It's a real fun one too; to use stripes on your project. You have 2 weeks to have a go and you too could be a future Guest Designer for a challenge (if you want too) AND Lawn fawn are generously sponsoring this challenge so you could also win a $25 Gift Card to the Lawn Fawn store, how cool is that!<br />

I'm using a card idea that <b><a href="https://shurkus.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jenn Shurkus</a></b>, taught me/us at a 2023 Virtual Art Retreat. I've modified her idea and am using a stencil and distress inks to make my stripes. Jenn loves making fab backgrounds. In her original class we made very loose streaks of colour using Distress Watercolor Pencils as our background then placed our dark grey Copic coloured image on top. <div><br /></div><div>I've used a stencil to re-create her look and working with my smaller blending brushes to blend in the stripes. As I am actually using a slimline stencil I die cut out a perfect stitched rectangle with Lawn Fawn's largest<i> Inside Out Stitched rectangle</i> die. But oops I'd been a bit messy and there was gold embossing powder on my plates and I had gold speckles on the RHS after running through my Big Shot. As this was my second go at doing the panel, I went into how to fix-it mode. So spritzed with shimmer spray and water and blotted but felt it needed some black splatters. I used my Licorice spray bottle to add a few drops by unscrewing and just tapping lightly the tubing for the nozzle to make controlled wee drops/splatters. When I sprayed it was much too dark on my practice run. </div><div><br /></div><div>My first panel I added a glitter paste through the stencil after ink blending and it looked fab but had a few funny reactions around some of the stripe edges which is why I tried again to make my striped panel.<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCvMfn6V8AbF-_Ktt2AVDTZ-1uLFNg_MegissqGAqT1j0teWDvvenidw1kEcJA-F0K0F5F1u3n4hNLEk99bQyg_nw6GvALQf26cPvdbyy0VBhYMc4cXXAueyYm86RUdS_sg0I7qL-zSjAG24yLc4NmyEF5M6oTbTDK-9vUV15p7QglQIX7tDs8OHf7yeE/s2804/toc_GUEST%20DESIGNERIMG_6005.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2150" data-original-width="2804" height="490" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCvMfn6V8AbF-_Ktt2AVDTZ-1uLFNg_MegissqGAqT1j0teWDvvenidw1kEcJA-F0K0F5F1u3n4hNLEk99bQyg_nw6GvALQf26cPvdbyy0VBhYMc4cXXAueyYm86RUdS_sg0I7qL-zSjAG24yLc4NmyEF5M6oTbTDK-9vUV15p7QglQIX7tDs8OHf7yeE/w640-h490/toc_GUEST%20DESIGNERIMG_6005.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQP06c6_JuiIwlmyLY4K08YSti57SX7lwbrXjDwiP11JCgdRPKfLWJrUZa8XfvlutHQPCePmoIgz7wfb4SyvbIZ-kJVBYbo11p1jvkgSCPT2394lR1Y63UOGx5wtuL_G4lrS8siK8b8fLuc4Mste0ijop45SqfwQWScn4rpJPKvvsg9FVyLUXU4X5i4O0/s2246/toc_GUEST%20DESIGNERIMG_6011.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQP06c6_JuiIwlmyLY4K08YSti57SX7lwbrXjDwiP11JCgdRPKfLWJrUZa8XfvlutHQPCePmoIgz7wfb4SyvbIZ-kJVBYbo11p1jvkgSCPT2394lR1Y63UOGx5wtuL_G4lrS8siK8b8fLuc4Mste0ijop45SqfwQWScn4rpJPKvvsg9FVyLUXU4X5i4O0/w640-h640/toc_GUEST%20DESIGNERIMG_6011.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><u>Supply List</u>:<br /><b>Stamps and dies</b>: Humbled and Grateful (PFS)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Distress Inks</b> (RNG): Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Paper</b>: Hammermill white, Neenah #110, Black</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Other</b>: Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, clear embossing powder, Frost shimmer spray (imagine), Licorice Izink dye spray, distress mista bottle, small blending brushes (TE) and foam strips, Inside Out Stitched rectangle die (LF), Horizontal stripes slimline stencil (PFS), Warm Gray Copics (W2,4,6,8)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCM5TBKRqgOA-EF58PmX6LS-7CQeQC5ebTX6xS1Z60qYcstlgkj2Vnjx-v-6mDWhVc7HaG2Z7xe79-ysPQnSnF9hQfIqPcR8H0rd4YX3g_bCA6GRbu4UAXC60ul1rknZhkY3ew-9Psj5rIHI0g4nsN8zxUN7QK4YWbjy-2YB7iRewW_qkLTOR5vN1g1j8/s320/TO%20GD%20Badge.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCM5TBKRqgOA-EF58PmX6LS-7CQeQC5ebTX6xS1Z60qYcstlgkj2Vnjx-v-6mDWhVc7HaG2Z7xe79-ysPQnSnF9hQfIqPcR8H0rd4YX3g_bCA6GRbu4UAXC60ul1rknZhkY3ew-9Psj5rIHI0g4nsN8zxUN7QK4YWbjy-2YB7iRewW_qkLTOR5vN1g1j8/s320/TO%20GD%20Badge.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>

This time I am not totally convinced about the combo. I personally find when I don't like a colour combo try to use it with scraps of card stock and dies. I thought the colours would work with my new-to-me <i>Birthday Dinosaurs</i> dies from Spellbinders. Making a girl dino with all the bits is always going to be super cute and I think she does look "RAWRsome" in Pretty Peacock, Fresh Freesia and Cajun Craze.<br /><br />I had a spare dino so decided to play along with the sketch at <b><a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2024/03/freshly-made-sketches-628-sketch-by.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a></b> as well. I had an idea but when I saw this DSP covered in feathers in the <i>Bird Ballad</i> collection (SU! - retired) I just had to use it.</div><div><br /></div><div>I decided I needed a biggish bird, so it was time to bring out the <i>Bird Crazy</i> set (Stampers Anonymous). When I use one of the crazy critters I like to add on an accessory from <i>Crazy Things</i> and as Easter is approaching fast I chose the bunny ears. I coloured them all up using my Distress Watercolor pencils. I've cut out the eyes to make it crazier, popped them up on foam and added some <i>Crystal Glaze</i> (Nuvo). The word-fetti comes from <i>Let's Chill</i> (EE). I was not planning it but I ended up choosing all 3. I've used a confetti stencil to add wee circles, I've made a square card as that seemed the most balanced and I've added a sentiment which is kind of a saying "<i>you party animal</i>".<div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm0vwFOqtdwiX2vEZuNcjOOO8Far9iH7CrY3LHA7PA4WNPjff1L678N8kXIJy4AK0rgzQDut-WtyunzQR9SuB2M-Y6ss-NufpOfsoifWuAnBjq8v5l-c4zlGs0a0beyJ54MVTwNQxC1J6-59_7tNLRkd7f236hvJWWEOBtUx688MAjJO1GPITgRwqOGR8/s320/%23693.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="320" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjm0vwFOqtdwiX2vEZuNcjOOO8Far9iH7CrY3LHA7PA4WNPjff1L678N8kXIJy4AK0rgzQDut-WtyunzQR9SuB2M-Y6ss-NufpOfsoifWuAnBjq8v5l-c4zlGs0a0beyJ54MVTwNQxC1J6-59_7tNLRkd7f236hvJWWEOBtUx688MAjJO1GPITgRwqOGR8/w320-h320/%23693.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div>I am playing with two new items that have turned up recently for me; Alex Syberia Designs <i>Confetti</i> stencil. The really cool thing about this stencil is it has 5 layers and you can create a pattern (not sure if I would call it confetti) that is multi-coloured and no spot touches another. I managed to get 2 layers done and then my card I was inking moved as I was lifting off the 2nd stencil. My Waffle Flower sticky mat had lost it's stick and needed a wash as it wasn't really sticky enough. No worries I thought, I can start again but when I looked at what I had created already I actually liked how random it was and it was not too busy. So decided that higher powers were making sure I didn't overdo it! <div><br /></div><div>I have used <i>Worn Lipstick</i> and <i>Mustard Seed</i> Distress inks and blended on Lavinia's <i>Smooth and Multifarious card</i> as it's WHITE, smooth and great for blending on. The wee mat is just the 2 inks blended around the edge and the banner is just the <i>Worn Lipstick</i> swiped on card to make me a perfectly matched coloured card stock.</div><div><br /></div><div>The second new item is Pink & Main's <i>Party Animal</i> stamp and die set - look at how much detail the die cut out around the streamers and confetti. I really love this set and am so pleased I shouted myself it, as I had to get it from overseas as this brand is not available here at my local craft store/s. I probably shout myself a couple of shops/ships a year and wait until there is enough things available on my wish list to make the shipping not hurt as much as it does.<br /><br />I've also cut out 2 extra white die-cuts for the party doggie and 1 extra for the sentiment to add stability and dimension plus a few 1mm foam squares to make the doggie balanced.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-T3nGxgWrmWFUIKbIy_pzTPXaPi6LoVMPffkwOYUy8_i3oRZWL0FQsfrCnhpmC58wZSmgnSf-snQeFhk60BT5E21Z0EGo9Z8XnxipIrNzgO-PDNv6gCx6P9KN9Uz9GkvLv4xaaMhzwJYvzKt8DWDQ3mP0DbRBlINXvd_tj5KZFhQhvQTXgFnAoKjRl7k/s2246/jaiIMG_6239.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-T3nGxgWrmWFUIKbIy_pzTPXaPi6LoVMPffkwOYUy8_i3oRZWL0FQsfrCnhpmC58wZSmgnSf-snQeFhk60BT5E21Z0EGo9Z8XnxipIrNzgO-PDNv6gCx6P9KN9Uz9GkvLv4xaaMhzwJYvzKt8DWDQ3mP0DbRBlINXvd_tj5KZFhQhvQTXgFnAoKjRl7k/w640-h640/jaiIMG_6239.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlKXC-QMRsRCd6SiEPzPW9gD6FvBQS5cCDyXVy8KmY1WMjUm-0jjTtZEEsZzaNkEvl587v7ONvV71mAB5XVIJ26GVIC1_5mQ1uFQ9Lw1Dd4WF8gzlstATqYCRe5AJ8BRp8B7G8hBmP8QFTDtdRxBEuBK8AOgUcuXs_0Mwo7C1T6WNeKxO5WokthFGaDZ8/s2246/jaiIMG_6242.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlKXC-QMRsRCd6SiEPzPW9gD6FvBQS5cCDyXVy8KmY1WMjUm-0jjTtZEEsZzaNkEvl587v7ONvV71mAB5XVIJ26GVIC1_5mQ1uFQ9Lw1Dd4WF8gzlstATqYCRe5AJ8BRp8B7G8hBmP8QFTDtdRxBEuBK8AOgUcuXs_0Mwo7C1T6WNeKxO5WokthFGaDZ8/w640-h640/jaiIMG_6242.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSdLheYgmb1cNO4zt7xeTLen5G9MAf87UnGnaldwW_kONN91lUh7MrtlWauzqNxyV5vyMFbZ3lGf_MgcHQgtZQCYyQtj1IiBAE06QcV9t2CD0A6525u9qoPacUwwFlG_FidqjCNi2uyIagQF3p6r_-_lJVl_eh27GhwFd0kty2kt2cRVKfHpvbir7tOy4/s2246/jaiIMG_6246.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSdLheYgmb1cNO4zt7xeTLen5G9MAf87UnGnaldwW_kONN91lUh7MrtlWauzqNxyV5vyMFbZ3lGf_MgcHQgtZQCYyQtj1IiBAE06QcV9t2CD0A6525u9qoPacUwwFlG_FidqjCNi2uyIagQF3p6r_-_lJVl_eh27GhwFd0kty2kt2cRVKfHpvbir7tOy4/w640-h640/jaiIMG_6246.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6UVdpc4thK7aZlkmoqg3n5DA3Q696IfIJgyOjD94EfiqVp7NK1by9vZatB9bdmti2wXAd7gQx5LLY0yIPWBo7JqhpOg4Ir2MzvshRVeqLRhx6a1kZfyUr8Q6En18yGPT6i2lxIHvFKVdJqHZgCQrUlRaCQ4Vxtaom1KTpGOqlVmsHuk2Yk78Kgdb0Qrg/s2246/jaiIMG_6248.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6UVdpc4thK7aZlkmoqg3n5DA3Q696IfIJgyOjD94EfiqVp7NK1by9vZatB9bdmti2wXAd7gQx5LLY0yIPWBo7JqhpOg4Ir2MzvshRVeqLRhx6a1kZfyUr8Q6En18yGPT6i2lxIHvFKVdJqHZgCQrUlRaCQ4Vxtaom1KTpGOqlVmsHuk2Yk78Kgdb0Qrg/w640-h640/jaiIMG_6248.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><u>Copics used (darkest >> lightest)</u>:<br />Grays: W4/W2/W0/W00 and W8 for nose<br />Yellow-browns: E19/YR27/YR24/YR31<br />Yellows: Y17/Y15/Y11</div><div>Pinks: RV14/RV13/RV21<br /><br />I'm also going to play along with <b><a href="https://seizethebirthday.blogspot.com/2024/03/seize-birthday-279-coordinating-tag-and.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Seize The Birthday</a></b>'s latest challenge with the additional twist of a co-ordinating tag. It's interesting what smaller sets Altenew puts out apart from the affordable price they often also have matching dies. I've gone real CAS on this and stamped directly to an A2 card base using a block. I've actually CASE-d Altenew's sample for the stamp set as that is what made me buy the set in the first place. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJkb45ABL7GGodib09DF0Hs3Yn9nogkCNfN3AO0-ylyYT18rl3tfbPK6Hn4qyb-Xh5pjqyccKEXquwKHJJAJ0oXI03hxlYUaAJWRWik_oBwKPRvc4knxlzo0c5IKDfCoCuWTFLhI8ypl8giRhmAGV3HH3XVcZUYZfyKSRhI7MSidysf5VMr3el0V2Ernc/s2246/DT261IMG_5355.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJkb45ABL7GGodib09DF0Hs3Yn9nogkCNfN3AO0-ylyYT18rl3tfbPK6Hn4qyb-Xh5pjqyccKEXquwKHJJAJ0oXI03hxlYUaAJWRWik_oBwKPRvc4knxlzo0c5IKDfCoCuWTFLhI8ypl8giRhmAGV3HH3XVcZUYZfyKSRhI7MSidysf5VMr3el0V2Ernc/w640-h640/DT261IMG_5355.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdsSzJVjiy6Cdehlb7jCuxySeHNy37ZXE6egKSJyM-ZKDstL3Mtq51aI7wVmeYZu6lNsJRcmM9zG14pDqroJNulOCUF1PIvsc4l_epdpEO8huELKMM0sXV5Y_7oN-WFtYrecTveUF0Gr9pGBmvnxIfN2WDP02B86TuW3ETADSMg8F5XoiBTXi4S4WtKmQ/s2246/DT261IMG_5344.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdsSzJVjiy6Cdehlb7jCuxySeHNy37ZXE6egKSJyM-ZKDstL3Mtq51aI7wVmeYZu6lNsJRcmM9zG14pDqroJNulOCUF1PIvsc4l_epdpEO8huELKMM0sXV5Y_7oN-WFtYrecTveUF0Gr9pGBmvnxIfN2WDP02B86TuW3ETADSMg8F5XoiBTXi4S4WtKmQ/w640-h640/DT261IMG_5344.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>I was happy with the stamping and design but would you believe it there must have been a piece of something on the edge of the darkest flower (where the bee is). I thought no worries I'll re-stamp it again but the second time I grabbed the lightest ink again for the misbehaving flower, so decided I would fix the first card if I could before making a third card. I tried adding white gel pen on top which didn't really remove the smudge so to cover it up I ended up using these bought and not used for a long time Bumblebee trinkets from SU!<br /><br />Inks above are all Pinkfresh Studio: Sunkissed, Mango Sorbet, Fruit Punch; Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll and Misty Coast. I finished off with a sentiment from <i>Label Love</i> (ALT).<br /><br />This is what the repeat card looked like, I added a bumblebee even though not needed to use another one up out of the stash.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV95hnbDGjsXHPGD4PGrKSaHxFO7VyS1zZwLMt66Ug1PWriTaxKqqbATT-EKegP2aFIqrMWk18QrIPMyoEt4Uj9v_cDlIyrL778EiIEH62Jxof-J5-sSNCD0twjtR-gf_m1ivXAXaVqRTZPyc9hswuvKrlteq8H3gpYJUesgJmfgwrMBI10k026FgRyBE/s2246/DT261IMG_5348.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV95hnbDGjsXHPGD4PGrKSaHxFO7VyS1zZwLMt66Ug1PWriTaxKqqbATT-EKegP2aFIqrMWk18QrIPMyoEt4Uj9v_cDlIyrL778EiIEH62Jxof-J5-sSNCD0twjtR-gf_m1ivXAXaVqRTZPyc9hswuvKrlteq8H3gpYJUesgJmfgwrMBI10k026FgRyBE/w640-h640/DT261IMG_5348.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I definitely prefer the first card colour combo but a really effective set to make some quick cards. It looks a fun challenge site and it's always good to start on the Christmas cards early, the only twist is you need to add a hot drink to the card. Surprisingly even though I can't start my day without a coffee or two I don't own many coffee stamps (or tea or hot chocolate). But of course there are one or two in different sets. So this month's challenge is to link up a newly created Christmas/Holiday themed card with at least one Green element! Your card can be Coffee, Tea or Hot Cocoa! <b><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=34765" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge</a></b> and <b><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-a-bit-o-green-2/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Simon Says Wednesday Challenge</a></b> both would like A Bit O' Green too!<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxVR8rraNZ-JUXZg_8Snq6tMyTjl15EPBOKXx-iUUO-LfwBUEYC9naUHCvAPLrei7VqNXxCStHyF9GeRG5u-lVuyuaGqlUHRtwRIVN27iO5x-lIwqxf2NHpp0zGEd2HrECarrEG1u8x1cg4uYjIc4Ktyp1Ph_00rwi3GbWaLah4QawL36lXHL66y8lQXc/s2246/CCCC27IMG_6191.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxVR8rraNZ-JUXZg_8Snq6tMyTjl15EPBOKXx-iUUO-LfwBUEYC9naUHCvAPLrei7VqNXxCStHyF9GeRG5u-lVuyuaGqlUHRtwRIVN27iO5x-lIwqxf2NHpp0zGEd2HrECarrEG1u8x1cg4uYjIc4Ktyp1Ph_00rwi3GbWaLah4QawL36lXHL66y8lQXc/w640-h640/CCCC27IMG_6191.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzgVHI6EaNT5kcb29Q5oxbuRhUuM6CKwc31XvEVg-01G4shJzdTdvr3NWCb5z3z9oIaGTGOu_Fgcs6XOPupdgSJ5WJNZgvBQlG8dXFM7i8X6FykEbC1w-hbqGkEX9BTKQPxq64SOxQMkpvlEQtOXJY1ivWU3-zPitunq1_utCSFkUmH6rSVDz2yH2CaPQ/s3369/CCCC27IMG_6195.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="3369" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzgVHI6EaNT5kcb29Q5oxbuRhUuM6CKwc31XvEVg-01G4shJzdTdvr3NWCb5z3z9oIaGTGOu_Fgcs6XOPupdgSJ5WJNZgvBQlG8dXFM7i8X6FykEbC1w-hbqGkEX9BTKQPxq64SOxQMkpvlEQtOXJY1ivWU3-zPitunq1_utCSFkUmH6rSVDz2yH2CaPQ/w640-h426/CCCC27IMG_6195.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3vySVeNKTRNOk6dte5_iDf9lAmFOpOw3j10Eh7mY-IUTRiSAMEUqYSF8l24Ck5DW716OfftVrQ5j5ixego2u2QEqiZWndQ4JNxf1rLYlcxp-mMqVADXOUfF0_TtdyzL8ftKUEOCjYuIhc9H-1G9tInw_OdEcViVRCCZhfY4xzwzlfj7iQmxUyLTuAdjo/s2246/CCCC27IMG_6188.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3vySVeNKTRNOk6dte5_iDf9lAmFOpOw3j10Eh7mY-IUTRiSAMEUqYSF8l24Ck5DW716OfftVrQ5j5ixego2u2QEqiZWndQ4JNxf1rLYlcxp-mMqVADXOUfF0_TtdyzL8ftKUEOCjYuIhc9H-1G9tInw_OdEcViVRCCZhfY4xzwzlfj7iQmxUyLTuAdjo/w640-h640/CCCC27IMG_6188.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><u>Supply List</u>:</div><div>Stamps: Xmas Selfies (MFT), Holiday Helpers (LF - wee hot chocolate cup), Hand Lettered Holiday Background (SSS)</div><div>Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Clair Nocturne, Granny Apple Green (SU!)</div><div>Paper: Granny Apple Green (SU!), Xpress IT blending, Neenah Solar White #110</div><div>Other: Gelli roll 10 pen (Sakura), Quickie glue pen (Sakura), Prisma glitter (LF), Copics, Selfie square die (MFT), 1mm foam square (SP), Memento Tuxedo black pen</div><div><br /></div><div><br /><span style="color: #999999;"><b>✿Karen✿</b></span>

I watched a video from <b><a href="https://sandimaciver.com/new-video-detailed-reverse-blackout-technique/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sandie McIver</a></b> which explains the process really easily.<div><br /></div><div>In a nutshell you need a 3D embossing folder, you spritz the A2 panel of white card with a light mist of water and run through your die-cutting machine in the embossing folder.<br /><br />Now this is where the fun/magic happens. When dry working on the debossed side colour in your image with colour, you don't have to be too clean and can colour outside the lines as anything above gets blackened afterwards. I found for the folder I was using I needed my smallest blending tools (1/4") to get into all the recessed areas. When happy swipe over your black ink pad (I had to reink mine as it wasn't black enough). Try to go up and down so you don't get ink in the debossed areas. My folder may have had too much detail as it was really hard to not get black ink in all the areas. I would have liked it to be blacker but I didn't want to add more black ink to the coloured images but it really does pop in real life.<br /><br />Here's a quick collage of the process. It's funny it looks like I am working on the raised areas but I am definitely shading in the debossed areas.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnXvTQzTco6qeW3GrIhKFyu6rM9lbDRlEqK652U_9ZraH96xzbdehK_4Q2Uo7PD8QvxUtCwuLn_AFGBxL6cqTJu3gcKIdncoM8PvDN98ixi2lF6FLSk1QKob4n9oP2UBEKRpg4dNYgBVScmcUlvA604HDlyKrPYwbld4sQXK5nQiVPGncpp4tkSuhYe9s/s2600/PlatformReverse%20Blackout%20technique%20(1).JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1950" data-original-width="2600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnXvTQzTco6qeW3GrIhKFyu6rM9lbDRlEqK652U_9ZraH96xzbdehK_4Q2Uo7PD8QvxUtCwuLn_AFGBxL6cqTJu3gcKIdncoM8PvDN98ixi2lF6FLSk1QKob4n9oP2UBEKRpg4dNYgBVScmcUlvA604HDlyKrPYwbld4sQXK5nQiVPGncpp4tkSuhYe9s/w640-h480/PlatformReverse%20Blackout%20technique%20(1).JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQeyMb9cX99X0dcvNH5TOdpmYt4aUd1MaJp50fQWMwUY-z-QcO0XuN0UWsE4ubcCcYH2vEkq9ZsE3lUE23kb1M5EMjbYnf7osdCB-gnaF7ERO7j3cJwqEn3AZu8db1Kk9lp4tFXwcNTJrNrww9K29UEuvjKy7Q3gGS4pzUgCiAqAaWQ8qribfQigIqtj8/s2246/PlatformIMG_6131.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQeyMb9cX99X0dcvNH5TOdpmYt4aUd1MaJp50fQWMwUY-z-QcO0XuN0UWsE4ubcCcYH2vEkq9ZsE3lUE23kb1M5EMjbYnf7osdCB-gnaF7ERO7j3cJwqEn3AZu8db1Kk9lp4tFXwcNTJrNrww9K29UEuvjKy7Q3gGS4pzUgCiAqAaWQ8qribfQigIqtj8/w640-h640/PlatformIMG_6131.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><u>Supply List</u>:</div><div><b>Stamps</b>: Easy Expressions: Birthday (The Ton)</div><div><b>Ink</b>: Sunflower (PFS), Sparkling Rose (PFS), Bubblegum (PFS), Grassy Knoll (PFS), Versafine Clair Nocturne<br /><b>Paper</b>: Neenah white, random pink glitter paper scrap</div><div><b>Other</b>: Dogwood Blooms 3D embossing folder (HB), small blending brushes (PFS and WF), Twilight Ombre glitter drops (PFS), black dimensionals (SU!)</div><div><b>Challenge</b>: <a href="https://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2024/03/pp680-color-challenge-from-jaydee.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">PP#680</a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdwAATMxIBOba3d0tJn9mf-LDFchqnVScHT30ph4QT7r0XfzGtyFWqCgEhnWWBfZnDSecYMHM0o27SakIonfsnBKWu25_wV4gI6bCa8eAf8nxGFDdu8hycb2SpR9-7AM6URIlGpMcP85O_UqjXQ1Ey2VcSKkbvqqAdoDSh08xANCAx6vfao8wsWk5_MJ0/s320/pp680.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="301" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdwAATMxIBOba3d0tJn9mf-LDFchqnVScHT30ph4QT7r0XfzGtyFWqCgEhnWWBfZnDSecYMHM0o27SakIonfsnBKWu25_wV4gI6bCa8eAf8nxGFDdu8hycb2SpR9-7AM6URIlGpMcP85O_UqjXQ1Ey2VcSKkbvqqAdoDSh08xANCAx6vfao8wsWk5_MJ0/w376-h400/pp680.png" width="376" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Well that was a lot of fun and I'll definitely repeat the technique especially if I find a bigger flower embossing folder to try it on.</div><div><br /></div><div>Well my original idea when I saw the colours was to make a pretty spring bunch of flowers but I'm pretty happy with my more dramatic card. This class was pretty straight forward and is available to watch on replay "forever" but I have to be honest Jenn had forgotten how to build a platform pop-up and we/she got it to work but it may have been quicker if I'd gone off and watched how to on the Lawn Fawn site. I would actually recommend you just make the pop up platform with the die-cut bits before watching. The good thing about if Jenn can forget how to make one then I am not alone, you do need to refresh how to do it, if you haven't done one recently. They are really easy and they do pack a wow and so fun but there is a way to do it right.<div><br /></div><div>As always we started off with colouring our cute wee critters and then making the stenciled background, before constructing everything including the platform pop-up.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first card:<br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-jHT_b82TMUEvJxDs_3NFgu6JxWbxr_lyEA9Q3tuExPBPpkdF_DLYaV7h1Y8GKQVDJOUQs2uyPUSVM0QWaiXDYjvTGp7o77-fAS1PEvwmrZQg-CD15WTi3gubdLjAYQmBYVH41Arsay_D0QujFZ93jAHlzgsVtYkIPjICDDiFlDYsCKHirartCsx2f-I/s2040/CarrotIMG_6105.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2040" data-original-width="2040" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-jHT_b82TMUEvJxDs_3NFgu6JxWbxr_lyEA9Q3tuExPBPpkdF_DLYaV7h1Y8GKQVDJOUQs2uyPUSVM0QWaiXDYjvTGp7o77-fAS1PEvwmrZQg-CD15WTi3gubdLjAYQmBYVH41Arsay_D0QujFZ93jAHlzgsVtYkIPjICDDiFlDYsCKHirartCsx2f-I/w640-h640/CarrotIMG_6105.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I don't own the stitched garden border so made slits in a simple stitched hillside panel using my Sandy Beach Accents, that also meant I didn't own a bigger carrot die to use instead of an A but I had a wee carrot in the tint Gift Box bunny add-on so used that and used smaller alphabet dies in my stash to match the size. I also grabbed an I stamp from Henry Jr.'s ABCs which maybe a tad too big. I love the Spring Blossoms stenciled background it truly does look like DSP. I used my Pinkfresh inks for stenciling and darkening the top of my hillside(Fresh Pear, Lemon Whip, Marigold and Doe). It has a cool big sentiment complete with a shamrock and a lucky horseshoe but no Leprechaun just a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, which was cute but I green rainbow wasn't doing it for me, so I thought I'd try and colour up a wee gnome "leprechaun-style" complete with gold beard from my <i>Little Gnome Agenda </i>set (ME).<div><br /></div><div>Lots of firsts here I'm not really sure how you are supposed to use Distress embossing glaze but I bought it as I love lime green awhile ago. I used it on the card like embossing powder i.e. stamping sentiment with my Versamark, coating with the Twisted Citron embossing glaze and then melting with a heat gun, it's definitely a pretty lime green. I added a few metallic gold pearls to add a tad more gold to the card.</div><div><span style="color: #999999;"><b><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWe3mDZN-S1AUrJl-1S104sSAoZd0xYxwt1K6xoN5glUcNX1l1_7FXss_VI97n1R-H-1vW1YfmXzE4Bqjg5dbAFRjzK_FEZcD1igDXfTbgk1R3oDHlIsSG3Gj22U5k2741jKaqhhig06KDkYiSzKd49xNYBn8gV3GODAOuFJMADFmBb24MUltaDvz45SU/s2246/wmIMG_6097.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWe3mDZN-S1AUrJl-1S104sSAoZd0xYxwt1K6xoN5glUcNX1l1_7FXss_VI97n1R-H-1vW1YfmXzE4Bqjg5dbAFRjzK_FEZcD1igDXfTbgk1R3oDHlIsSG3Gj22U5k2741jKaqhhig06KDkYiSzKd49xNYBn8gV3GODAOuFJMADFmBb24MUltaDvz45SU/w640-h640/wmIMG_6097.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /></b></span>

I'd decided I was going to combine <b><a href="https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2024/03/color-throwdown-challenge-783.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Color Throwdown</a></b>'s latest colour challenge with <b><a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2024/03/freshly-made-sketches-626.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketch</a></b>'s sketch using my old SU! set Watercolor shapes for the circle shape but<b><a href="https://snapdragonstamps.blogspot.com/2024/03/papaya-herbal-tea.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Christy</a></b> bet me to it. So back to "thinking" of a plan B. In the end I decided I would just go for it and use a circle mask and ink the peach and sage inks and see what it looked like<div><br /></div><div>Once that was done, I then decided I would use a new stamp set I received from Pretty Pink Posh recently in a Virtual class kit as it had a nice flower plus foliage, and then the next bits fell into place really easily as that set has a Hello Friend sentiment which covered <b><a href="https://addictedtocas.blogspot.com/2024/03/challenge-253.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Addicted to CAS</a></b>'s and <b><a href="https://cleanandsimpleonsunday.blogspot.com/2024/03/challenge-278-hello.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CAS on Friday</a></b>'s latest challenges too - the first one wants Friends and the latter Hello. Now that's what I call working smarter not harder. I used my Gina K Master Layouts to get my nice squares all matted and stitched. The coloured mat is just the Sunkissed ink swiped all around the edge.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7Gl_xuLZuj2pzrRjpBiVNLn5PqDLmMPXTxUceX6W1uMNBl31aujFjn78U98j2eHtfsfsqQIF3Ogvh8BBxrVSz1DGUSU0_s_BsKRwMroU4q21zJUEHUXmCHJB7CD1iy6_hGe7jqLgpAkNGmvgrfj5DgSyzQjHZL9kMFZZ9j8gDKAGmuEd6z_NJZN8Z22c/s3144/wmIMG_6063.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; Last year they invited The Stamp Market to their Holiday cards and I loved them. This year's first box the guest company was Pretty Pink Posh (PPP) a company I have always enjoyed their whimsical and cute stamps over many years so was really rapt with this pick especially as Mindy Eggen was teaching the class.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWeK2tuG4v5roJaVlIAum3ixDFKlb3rBOc8YKE16ce5CMUlHtYZO3Ce1sOHQjdKsQy3zPPRPAf-FPUBltvujxSO8IaBs0Bkeapzni1dP3df5FIoM50VyKfBBWIbHn6yr-pwlt8M9jIDyIFKClDu0NS9Iqa0iA_v9P9lnLyfx7ilpGMU2Xr0t26JlU-OIE/s2876/MindyIMG_5905.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2129" data-original-width="2876" height="474" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWeK2tuG4v5roJaVlIAum3ixDFKlb3rBOc8YKE16ce5CMUlHtYZO3Ce1sOHQjdKsQy3zPPRPAf-FPUBltvujxSO8IaBs0Bkeapzni1dP3df5FIoM50VyKfBBWIbHn6yr-pwlt8M9jIDyIFKClDu0NS9Iqa0iA_v9P9lnLyfx7ilpGMU2Xr0t26JlU-OIE/w640-h474/MindyIMG_5905.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>We received for this class a stamp set and matching dies containing Hummingbirds and Florals. We also received a fun Stacked Scallop stencil. All the coloured cardstock has been created by wiping our ink pads over white card, even the black strip was created this way. There seemed to be a real emphasis this event on doing this. It's really true we don't need all that coloured card and it would certainly free up some space in our craft rooms if we all stop buying it. <br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7p1z_H4EAlrcaMDg8323paRTLw5vtFmmyhuBH-C4sU_MX2LsQQqgdbF2fKu84NnQXE52ZIY9Lmqi_auNdLC_PsOYSGSHvI_llHs-S8QZXxLX9MTWw1OQtLL32bMTUtjLmvGRGLegaTrVzgUwybK_fgJhayt70y2UloiweKPKEepYe4lw2lwQ4hO0nfmA/s2387/MindyIMG_5999.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2227" data-original-width="2387" height="598" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7p1z_H4EAlrcaMDg8323paRTLw5vtFmmyhuBH-C4sU_MX2LsQQqgdbF2fKu84NnQXE52ZIY9Lmqi_auNdLC_PsOYSGSHvI_llHs-S8QZXxLX9MTWw1OQtLL32bMTUtjLmvGRGLegaTrVzgUwybK_fgJhayt70y2UloiweKPKEepYe4lw2lwQ4hO0nfmA/w640-h598/MindyIMG_5999.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>I just love the colour palate for the first card and with this loose way of blending in the colours it really was very easy to colour up, die cut out and arrange the images in a "wreath".</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2oEw-m4VxNNrTZr5g15qpWL1hlBPML5IcVjNfCuUxWwdhRrwumflCCBfjSB8M1ghrRR_zhzRYrfF_VnIe-1cq2W5pGecvRl4iXeih5vkI71aixeuHoyuyT5cVn-WjdI1DEvXlafVXV6n0rQ0Ycn2WHWWCdMlPCajUoTHVMTyuLWWoxbkyPyOj51VPzjM/s2936/MindyIMG_5913.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2218" data-original-width="2936" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2oEw-m4VxNNrTZr5g15qpWL1hlBPML5IcVjNfCuUxWwdhRrwumflCCBfjSB8M1ghrRR_zhzRYrfF_VnIe-1cq2W5pGecvRl4iXeih5vkI71aixeuHoyuyT5cVn-WjdI1DEvXlafVXV6n0rQ0Ycn2WHWWCdMlPCajUoTHVMTyuLWWoxbkyPyOj51VPzjM/w640-h484/MindyIMG_5913.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhViH2A3oEwPs_BRY__UIdW_-nhOuVdsJKlf-vb5_Mz5eblsU_RpbKnGb-DhSYCvqJGLnuNMc-kmvsu3GFQ_eCadrBfxcnuZ0H6pU6KdpzJPX9MAK9muugHLskm_FX3-9wg1bOxlz1exYKvttVJP0yHJQiIMbnIHRYzQ2vCkVahCtTdD6Q0kP4fIUpUenU/s2232/MindyIMG_6000.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2232" data-original-width="2204" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhViH2A3oEwPs_BRY__UIdW_-nhOuVdsJKlf-vb5_Mz5eblsU_RpbKnGb-DhSYCvqJGLnuNMc-kmvsu3GFQ_eCadrBfxcnuZ0H6pU6KdpzJPX9MAK9muugHLskm_FX3-9wg1bOxlz1exYKvttVJP0yHJQiIMbnIHRYzQ2vCkVahCtTdD6Q0kP4fIUpUenU/w632-h640/MindyIMG_6000.JPG" width="632" /></a></div><br /><div>The second card I can't believe how sharp and crisp the lines were and how effective it was just stenciling the background with the scalloped waves were. I've used a few of my oldest Altenew stamp sets; <i>Painted Butterflies</i> and <i>Label Love</i>. I'll also pop my card up in <b><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-114/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge</a></b> with "Anything Goes".<div><br /></div><div>The only tricky thing was getting 5 butterflies along an edge, so I made a bigger card (7" x 5") to squeeze them all in). </div><div><br /></div><div>I was stamping on a 6-3/4" x 4-3/4" mat when I decided I wanted to add some washi, at this stage the balance looked wrong to me, I was worried I had too much white space. I found an old striped black and white washi in my stash which I feel works perfectly. As I ended up "placing" the mat on the RHS directly I ended up cutting off 1/4" off the top of the card to balance it all up and my final card's dimension is 6-3/4" x 5".</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzh8wyMpmThuU_yicsrZTbonZ5hmGh0-IxnSvVZjWJ4jN-d-cnoJR5LSB6qTl8dkFC5JcoaUJOzqjdhOH1ZPa-HLwLTni6DKbZQti2WuCUXE0rztBCDiJrGuLd1KMM3DUr8wr9pD0RSWe4WyLa-UkdBvvCPrw-0dn85V8ZjtibP3yIg3rEraHii26OiAE/s2246/dt260IMG_5322.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzh8wyMpmThuU_yicsrZTbonZ5hmGh0-IxnSvVZjWJ4jN-d-cnoJR5LSB6qTl8dkFC5JcoaUJOzqjdhOH1ZPa-HLwLTni6DKbZQti2WuCUXE0rztBCDiJrGuLd1KMM3DUr8wr9pD0RSWe4WyLa-UkdBvvCPrw-0dn85V8ZjtibP3yIg3rEraHii26OiAE/w640-h640/dt260IMG_5322.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><u>Pinkfresh Studio inks</u> used for my colour combos (top > bottom; lightest > darkest):<br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Cherry Blossom/Peony</li><li>Sunkissed/Mimosa</li><li>Limoncello/Bay Leaf</li><li>Waterfall/Paradise</li><li>Soft Lilac/Lavender</li></ul>And the sketch which was my inspiration:<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTXPGfqVT9zuynaGL6Yb7u2aH9tEpTSFjJtc4Mx0O3-5xX-B02tZjOY1sJJ96xVpx1-Z_t2-pJNWEy6FQOvaWSS8kmOzNTnQNPyG5k110hIuymnsEyBN1s-iNEVJ_ldbd0SkzGIv-2zgaLklIk3RXPmpXoxs1WZARYBcCUsLNVKRfYUhpmt7BcGxvnoME/s2048/AAA260.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTXPGfqVT9zuynaGL6Yb7u2aH9tEpTSFjJtc4Mx0O3-5xX-B02tZjOY1sJJ96xVpx1-Z_t2-pJNWEy6FQOvaWSS8kmOzNTnQNPyG5k110hIuymnsEyBN1s-iNEVJ_ldbd0SkzGIv-2zgaLklIk3RXPmpXoxs1WZARYBcCUsLNVKRfYUhpmt7BcGxvnoME/w400-h400/AAA260.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>Just a reminder what CAS means to AAA Cards, we maybe the most restrictive of all the CAS Challenges but it also means the card is relatively easy to create. I always think of the colour Green when I think of Spring, new leaves and fresh lush grass; hopefully green frogs and green clouds are Spring-like - well my frog can do "springing too" and <b><a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-anything-goes-114/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Simon Says Stamp</a></b> Wednesday challenge has an Anything Goes.<div><br /></div><div>As it's clean and simple I tried to keep it to minimal layers so used the double stitched circle die to add some interest to my card panel. I then made a mask out of a 4.25" x 4.25" square of masking paper and die cut out a circle from the middle of the square that was slightly smaller than the stitched circles.<br /><br />I placed this mask panel over the stitching and added a post it note top and bottom to protect the top and bottom of my panel. From the die cut circle middle I drew a "hill" free-hand which I cut out. I placed this bit back inside the circle mask and keeping with the GREEN theme did a very, very light blend of Twisted Citron to make my clouds. I placed the top of the circle back in and removed the bottom bit blended with Salvaged Patina to make my pond then splattered with a small paint brush some smooshed Blueprint Sketch ink. I felt it was too white at the end which is why I used my Master Layouts #1 to add a hint of a green mat.</div><div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvqWSxXkdacvd-zR2ksSqN48_AondbhtExH8r70YK3OCYnmdWY_Exr9TeShhgMn5yRfELm106TCnPZgDDrzDGG7OvwJ01RsjFi-xVCPzxpqDevxn_5mIqRZ5txxnZWS5NRP3gyS4aE22DBjU_CLU0SztLXfkO42b8da5w5ND5P5FI-bsh0P8v2E7wG_kU/s2246/Green%20FrogIMG_6020.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFK4gWKo1QHAZjhgxSVwCaXRqkrTNgmGtZreuIb7RS8awHfRCSFQOi8gsYbI3DVZ5e3n19xqHDlAn0ZDuYcYDZ6bda2GL6pJ75_K8c6WQO6aAtgYaqAxYGhUy6UHiD0Gz7fy-xMlrawaDJVMM-dtdabvGYHD2QgagCioG_bca3C3rvNOxajSI6sHOLNmI/s1100/%2359%20March.png" style="margin-left: 1em; My first go was with the matte gold and Slumber, Sapphire, Lavender and Raspberry Bliss inks using my 1/2" blending brushes. It was pretty but it wasn't as dramatic as I wanted, partly because I'd graduated my blending and the colours faded back more than I thought they would when they dried. I also used 4 of the 5 stencils in the set as I wanted some areas to remain uninked and white.</div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh6XU0r43EU5Yt7e1iP7_6EEr8qNwylOrBPCZm4C-R56fGLa2e4otU6aoZM5EoH17NcSRVZSbXxwKf7VJI5KlcawiMIqKdEVhSuu_WPVmS8pgKtv0HdcRfnIMR7bXDcvBoI5Mq2mt7jpwwYvNuLSBiF3PrLbPfbD-TdSy_Z5cV1ETulyr0voR1YEGa3b0/s3456/AAAB59IMG_5759.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3456" data-original-width="3456" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh6XU0r43EU5Yt7e1iP7_6EEr8qNwylOrBPCZm4C-R56fGLa2e4otU6aoZM5EoH17NcSRVZSbXxwKf7VJI5KlcawiMIqKdEVhSuu_WPVmS8pgKtv0HdcRfnIMR7bXDcvBoI5Mq2mt7jpwwYvNuLSBiF3PrLbPfbD-TdSy_Z5cV1ETulyr0voR1YEGa3b0/w640-h640/AAAB59IMG_5759.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /></div><div>So it was back to PLAN A and the black foiled image and this time I just went for the 3 darkest inks and also used my bigger blending brushes so easier and quicker to do a heavy ink blend for each stencil layer. I've only used 3 of the 5 stencils so I also have more uninked areas and more white spaces.<br /><br />I wish I could show how vibrant the black foil is in real life but it is crisp and shiny, a bit like it has been black heat embossed. I've also laid 2 plain die cuts under the sentiment to make it have a bit more dimension.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo4811ia0TfSUZ04FUDRMmwT-vL6JEvRhBZAJYjdNteNCL9j_eG_C94PapUdDNDgKYl3za1_zfjsjmkz_UE21tWem9pxtRBHkz1oBF_lMZjVemQ96DWTFiHsqMTZH5Gyq46ShWub1VzGbvkHJzoKhbw9Li0_unYfiSgzfadIfWchUbqmcU6h9SukAUVtw/s3456/AAAB59IMG_5760.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3456" data-original-width="3456" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo4811ia0TfSUZ04FUDRMmwT-vL6JEvRhBZAJYjdNteNCL9j_eG_C94PapUdDNDgKYl3za1_zfjsjmkz_UE21tWem9pxtRBHkz1oBF_lMZjVemQ96DWTFiHsqMTZH5Gyq46ShWub1VzGbvkHJzoKhbw9Li0_unYfiSgzfadIfWchUbqmcU6h9SukAUVtw/w640-h640/AAAB59IMG_5760.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcizmylPPrgYdoIcpSUIAzpRmOzh73FpBWXaNQnM4SQwuGA5Ze7bAXzg9BkSZlCk3rn7s9zsKUqANj3H9Jb9ALbUzi6sCtvOvzuVHSYNecnZtgqsARaWSEFGeCtsuLhp78x0wvAb_h-6-GxHdJdeFyd3TYDgi-yI6AocJTIwq9CX1IUAy55LWrvhBGYSY/s3456/AAAB59IMG_5751.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3456" data-original-width="3456" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcizmylPPrgYdoIcpSUIAzpRmOzh73FpBWXaNQnM4SQwuGA5Ze7bAXzg9BkSZlCk3rn7s9zsKUqANj3H9Jb9ALbUzi6sCtvOvzuVHSYNecnZtgqsARaWSEFGeCtsuLhp78x0wvAb_h-6-GxHdJdeFyd3TYDgi-yI6AocJTIwq9CX1IUAy55LWrvhBGYSY/w640-h640/AAAB59IMG_5751.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><u>Supply List</u> (all Pinkfresh Studio unless stated otherwise):<br /><b>Hot foil plates</b>: Modern Design Blocks (and stencils), Perfect Sentiments (and cutting die)</div><div><b>Ink</b>: Sapphire, Lavender, Raspberry Bliss (plus Slumber for gold foiled card)</div><div><b>Paper</b>: Hammermill White (foiling), Neenah Solar White #110 (base card)</div><div><b>Other</b>: Glimmer Hot Foil machine (SP), Black glimmer foil (SP), Matte Gold glimmer foil (SP), Magenta glimmer drops, blending brushes (TE) and 1/2" blending brushes</div><div><b>Challenge</b>: <a href="https://aaabirthday.blogspot.com/2024/03/game-59-geometric.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">AAA Birthday #59</a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ0B-3P21ZE5iwKXTMMCTlKqcxotqqBHsqvkZfe5ueio0MMQo3hNDGs3MCoJfGJa9q8UyHNVfpS57rC3pYYVf6RVnR44tc2oMRjfhGiLJ6qchBWi5QIzoofbWB70rbtFk_kFPETgOPJw6yLZO9LDKb4u6C1jR3g18B5AVc7un5XBXm5_uaz6mVpCf4wI4/s1320/GD%20badge.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="413" data-original-width="1320" height="125" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ0B-3P21ZE5iwKXTMMCTlKqcxotqqBHsqvkZfe5ueio0MMQo3hNDGs3MCoJfGJa9q8UyHNVfpS57rC3pYYVf6RVnR44tc2oMRjfhGiLJ6qchBWi5QIzoofbWB70rbtFk_kFPETgOPJw6yLZO9LDKb4u6C1jR3g18B5AVc7un5XBXm5_uaz6mVpCf4wI4/w400-h125/GD%20badge.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div>Well I hope you have time to play along, you have a whole month to get creative, I for one am really interested to see what the Design Team came up for this Challenge as it certainly is different than the norm.</div><div><br />Thanks for popping in.</div><div><br /></div><div><b style="background-color: white; color: #999999; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 17.6px;">✿Karen✿</b></div>kareN stampZhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14352136728318888713noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2590046769975852219.post-76241805002145956312024-02-29T22:15:00.004+13:002024-02-29T22:37:19.627+13:00Citrus Twist with LeaSharing today my second class from my Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect and today's card showcases the lovely <i>Citrus Twist</i> stamp set, dies and stencils. Our teacher for this class was Lea Lawson who is the marketing director for PFS and she often shares creating cards with their products via YouTube and monthly classes in Zoom. <br />

These were quite simple cards to put together as the stamp set is one piece but we did a bit of surgery to create extra citrus fruit. The wee flowers and leaves die-cut out separately but were part of the stamp. Both cards used our essentials from our swag, the <i>Stitched Octagons</i> coverplate die, <i>Notched Corner Frame</i> dies, gems with gold dust and for card one a sentiment from the <i>Extra Special Sentiments</i> stamp set.<div><br /></div><div><i>Pink grapefruit and lemons card:</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyKPZYbEguYX-xQZmFgSkfJweEAdqg4IO_CLJAOwXHN9RyZW_AZnENjYUEX4qHMzf-wzfBMKPLCPn8MQpjUPgyrjZ0BEVx0dWRHMo0AP720EG0ZTXrN5Leo8FFuFiJpSgeKQIIKK_czEEG0tXU82zMVd-0SctF3k2tb7FEacBX3i5U0sd7HEOtKl4burA/s2246/LeaIMG_5977.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyKPZYbEguYX-xQZmFgSkfJweEAdqg4IO_CLJAOwXHN9RyZW_AZnENjYUEX4qHMzf-wzfBMKPLCPn8MQpjUPgyrjZ0BEVx0dWRHMo0AP720EG0ZTXrN5Leo8FFuFiJpSgeKQIIKK_czEEG0tXU82zMVd-0SctF3k2tb7FEacBX3i5U0sd7HEOtKl4burA/w640-h640/LeaIMG_5977.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>The images were gold embossed before stenciling and die-cutting out. The embossing powder Lea used looked amazing like a burnt gold (she said it was an Iridescent gold powder, I thought she said from WOW but they don't make one but Hero Arts does and I own that so might try it out) - see her cards lower. We used up excess ink on our blending brushes to make a delicate background on the coverplate die panel, you also see the gold dust in the gems they provided as part of our swag, they're really pretty. I was very fortunate to be able to share my weekend away at a friend's crafty space, as it turns out she also got some candid moments on her camera. So a big, big thank you to Denise and Jackie for making it such a fun weekend.<br /><br /><div>Start of the first day Jackie and me are concentrating hard at this stage.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisKn4tJ6LMg7KajXUFPxSOxnSAz-f7e-TN1oouSxdPgG7MmXXKUZWYSmXtWiLnhOFLX8g-8C5hOHHJtyC8pAj1068YRouJmVVQybxHGSmICKctDaguiSDMZPiJ8Dyu85jW3Ml6969_SO2HGTlcAdlNXkG0BAaaQciqRnDdis6DQORLTka7NY3BmP7krN4/s2048/Craftatastophe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisKn4tJ6LMg7KajXUFPxSOxnSAz-f7e-TN1oouSxdPgG7MmXXKUZWYSmXtWiLnhOFLX8g-8C5hOHHJtyC8pAj1068YRouJmVVQybxHGSmICKctDaguiSDMZPiJ8Dyu85jW3Ml6969_SO2HGTlcAdlNXkG0BAaaQciqRnDdis6DQORLTka7NY3BmP7krN4/w400-h300/Craftatastophe.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />Time for lunch (and a wee glass of bubbly).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMjGcK-KELgMiKSaDuFYmVLQoYx36OpgnVhWxi4Okl1CVPVyqi2arLgPHnjl8VjwhJ-kIqevrmXySvoek1YZo0vx-NzhObsXy2JQk8_8Zxb1UwA3MNkKoVbtzbQPQChgNunw_0cn7lWXph2fSDx5mznrwCLGPI1Ocj5ZwEpVnZ2XBdtUIMBJROpGdskEU/s2048/The%20gals.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMjGcK-KELgMiKSaDuFYmVLQoYx36OpgnVhWxi4Okl1CVPVyqi2arLgPHnjl8VjwhJ-kIqevrmXySvoek1YZo0vx-NzhObsXy2JQk8_8Zxb1UwA3MNkKoVbtzbQPQChgNunw_0cn7lWXph2fSDx5mznrwCLGPI1Ocj5ZwEpVnZ2XBdtUIMBJROpGdskEU/w300-h400/The%20gals.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibnC4krr_bRl-fQQZJDSi96zTd8zplj2HAave9qsq2QkSrZT5nauj6TH3qRfWpN3nDC_C7N8S0p9E2JEG1IqzqPF5FabcPP-QWtXKbFtrH8AcTikjPX0tSgRCVwR1RpNlQDdk5FITglh-t_OWJTEvIA7XIy4FdvzMxWX344fringWNQZutpI5BBwu1B7w/s2992/My%20lunch%20(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2992" data-original-width="2992" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibnC4krr_bRl-fQQZJDSi96zTd8zplj2HAave9qsq2QkSrZT5nauj6TH3qRfWpN3nDC_C7N8S0p9E2JEG1IqzqPF5FabcPP-QWtXKbFtrH8AcTikjPX0tSgRCVwR1RpNlQDdk5FITglh-t_OWJTEvIA7XIy4FdvzMxWX344fringWNQZutpI5BBwu1B7w/s320/My%20lunch%20(1).jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Ready for Mindy's Class:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi75Fu3AvGC_OPgOBvpHM0R2S00nJ132YztJbICnYDMHQtoo6NFaKPduhRJdjWR0ewGlf3A7bNop4j26Y8p5TNy33oWeKiQcFQO70DQbfuqVC5IyQSUfFUTPAc6RU25ejZOFt0AGEOPuoKaB2ZTKRnNSkw-HZ9tK0Tu6ppURwl3V5b7ku9h1kIBCzKs_YU/s2048/The%20gals%202.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi75Fu3AvGC_OPgOBvpHM0R2S00nJ132YztJbICnYDMHQtoo6NFaKPduhRJdjWR0ewGlf3A7bNop4j26Y8p5TNy33oWeKiQcFQO70DQbfuqVC5IyQSUfFUTPAc6RU25ejZOFt0AGEOPuoKaB2ZTKRnNSkw-HZ9tK0Tu6ppURwl3V5b7ku9h1kIBCzKs_YU/w400-h300/The%20gals%202.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div>Chicken pie for dinner anyone (and salad and bread and wine). This class was using a wide washi tape with it's corresponding stamp set, dies and stencils. It was a collection of butterflies and leaves and appropriately named <i>Fluttering Butterflies</i>. The class was taught by <b><a href="https://anettscraps.blogspot.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Anett Gelenscer</a></b> who interestingly leads PFS Scrapbook Creative team but OMG she is so talented and so kind and nice. I loved her cards she taught us both had fancy folds, so she can card make as well all right. <br /><br />We received our class kits and essential items and swag in a beautiful but sturdy cardboard box with a magnetic lid. It was just the right size to transport all the ink pads I needed for the event to my friend's Denise's place in Auckland so it will remain for a long time in my crafting supplies<div><br /></div><div>Here is my cards from this class together in front of the box.<div><br /></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh42OL0MQXop22pphj2wN-PH8I3ac3d6i9zpQbMfIEA5Ma95OqRYPYmELexp5QVbTAQIhOIlYegKMftIjtEoGGleJEY8Jl0Az8nkVm4_36MPDY6fBeTCThWxna5pL7hseQLw5QVS4dNb6qFQww3nPMHduFcXZGh07-uSh0e6qsMvqllddOjNTYplxmWhNw/s3139/Class%201IMG_5926.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2218" data-original-width="3139" height="452" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh42OL0MQXop22pphj2wN-PH8I3ac3d6i9zpQbMfIEA5Ma95OqRYPYmELexp5QVbTAQIhOIlYegKMftIjtEoGGleJEY8Jl0Az8nkVm4_36MPDY6fBeTCThWxna5pL7hseQLw5QVS4dNb6qFQww3nPMHduFcXZGh07-uSh0e6qsMvqllddOjNTYplxmWhNw/w640-h452/Class%201IMG_5926.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>As well as the Fluttering Butterflies suite of products we also received in our kits <i>Stitched Octagons</i> coverplate die and a set of <i>Notched Corner Frames </i>dies, both of these products were used on both cards.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first card we white embossed the stamped image and then blended from the tips in leaving the centres light/white. We then made a shadow box for the die-cut images to be mounted on the front of the card. Plus I still have left over images to use on another card. Again I have more images I can use on another card. PFS washi is amazing, the images are gold foiled and are so luxuriant. If they release this set I am definitely buying more of this washi tape. I think one roll has approximately 32 "image panels" per roll. For this card we made an easy Easel Card. I think the die cut frame piece is just perfect for attaching the washi die cuts.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4SyKXPBtDKL8DT8Uo5TwVP3IygnzanOvGQLqSQKs8o-l5zQYWwfoBMcKF7zjLZRO8NOcGhoO8jgQz7b-Iz4Wdi9K2LOkOg2oEeC4vQ2xNmXrf9MyFrUXPuyF6AW-YRyuFw8dzpCvdFqWWBfxBcZgqXQ1jw9mv3ImbEIF-K5lvVfzOIjEkF0rM6bP51ok/s2425/Class%201IMG_5932.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2168" data-original-width="2425" height="572" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4SyKXPBtDKL8DT8Uo5TwVP3IygnzanOvGQLqSQKs8o-l5zQYWwfoBMcKF7zjLZRO8NOcGhoO8jgQz7b-Iz4Wdi9K2LOkOg2oEeC4vQ2xNmXrf9MyFrUXPuyF6AW-YRyuFw8dzpCvdFqWWBfxBcZgqXQ1jw9mv3ImbEIF-K5lvVfzOIjEkF0rM6bP51ok/w640-h572/Class%201IMG_5932.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW9HHnITSOT61HpN-dQe17WWHe3kGyjjAimCY6wp269r-o-jkl8yu5y0_rW5pjiXXv49jyjIbqOJoD6pGsrIfjPPcI0jc_uoOI05JBuTA2JTJv_PpAsnmikKAvt-bN8mswS7Ix7Ox3wTKhcSn76-LdnjkyH0IAHaXmhC-ov-sodlDwHCZWm0-xqsJWlAg/s2368/Class%201IMG_5934.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2227" data-original-width="2368" height="602" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW9HHnITSOT61HpN-dQe17WWHe3kGyjjAimCY6wp269r-o-jkl8yu5y0_rW5pjiXXv49jyjIbqOJoD6pGsrIfjPPcI0jc_uoOI05JBuTA2JTJv_PpAsnmikKAvt-bN8mswS7Ix7Ox3wTKhcSn76-LdnjkyH0IAHaXmhC-ov-sodlDwHCZWm0-xqsJWlAg/w640-h602/Class%201IMG_5934.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2cuAMx5peNeIa0dm0DL5KFQdtYKNVXAT6DVWUz8kTxvbGYX_x5w2bevIL9cGproRIinDDv-P1BmzF0qky_J-mNkCDvl9HBL0pc3i_Vz9wXZqYkqP53TQvmkyIlze6LrqN-o5lz_MgiSclLSjFsIdJhbUyTAtmte4x12IujMuoX9Nj2fBNxv913MxsPvY/s2204/Class%201IMG_5935.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2204" data-original-width="2166" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2cuAMx5peNeIa0dm0DL5KFQdtYKNVXAT6DVWUz8kTxvbGYX_x5w2bevIL9cGproRIinDDv-P1BmzF0qky_J-mNkCDvl9HBL0pc3i_Vz9wXZqYkqP53TQvmkyIlze6LrqN-o5lz_MgiSclLSjFsIdJhbUyTAtmte4x12IujMuoX9Nj2fBNxv913MxsPvY/w628-h640/Class%201IMG_5935.JPG" width="628" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>And the official class picture showing Anett's fabulous creations:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVnYyiJt84qB5Gabplbw6fAax2g0lZX0s3JtI2KX36c6kRMVshAn6bmSHulGyncmpkW8Xt9NKxjugIRmOhmlxAHFGWD_uKGVC_g_VDD0HwlnBD7J3UnT04CZcgqrJmdSgKUILtG8I5IeBemeA-ogn0dEMqyJbxUkWc9WoNvuq6KJc_8zOCa8fWDcv55p4/s2880/Class%201_Anett_PFS.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="2880" height="284" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVnYyiJt84qB5Gabplbw6fAax2g0lZX0s3JtI2KX36c6kRMVshAn6bmSHulGyncmpkW8Xt9NKxjugIRmOhmlxAHFGWD_uKGVC_g_VDD0HwlnBD7J3UnT04CZcgqrJmdSgKUILtG8I5IeBemeA-ogn0dEMqyJbxUkWc9WoNvuq6KJc_8zOCa8fWDcv55p4/w640-h284/Class%201_Anett_PFS.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>She obviously did an awesome job of teaching us as I'm pretty rapt that mine look pretty similar to hers and are FABULOUS even if I say so myself;) Even my partner commented when he saw the bundle of cards I returned home with that they all looked amazing. I'm joining a few crafty friends in Auckland so hope to get 4 of the 6 classes completed. Pinkfresh Studio (PFS) have collaborated again; this time with Pretty Pink Posh (PPP).<br /><br />This time the presenters are Lea and Heather from Pinkfresh Studios, Mindy Eggen representing PPP. They are also joined by some of the fab PFS design team Anett Gelencser, Yana Smakula and Jennifer McGuire, what a rock star line up.<div><br /></div><div>I've had my beautiful box for quite awhile, so much so I lost all the goodies and homework a few weeks ago and went into a blind panic as I had put it away somewhere safe but luckily I found where I was keeping it safe - under my splat box. It's my SIL birthday soon and he's a keen golfer so I thought I would play along with a few challenges to help get me started. <b><a href="https://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-531-sketch.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CAS Colours & Sketches</a></b> has provided me with a sketch which was my starting point. <b><a href="https://cleanandsimpleonsunday.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-277-i-male-boy.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CAS on Friday</a></b> just wants boy/male and I'm getting ready to go away for a crafty weekend and I really wanted to acknowledge <b><a href="https://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-257-time-out-10th-birthday.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Time Out Challenges</a></b> for celebrating their 10th anniversary/birthday, what a worthy achievement and definitely deserving a shout out!<br /><br />The SIL is a keen golfer so I grabbed the SU! Well a very special wee boy to me is turning 2 real soon so I tried to do a blue unicorn - normally I add a tad of pale pink to highlight the body - this time a tad of BG11/10 to the body. I think it looks quite sweet in these colours. <div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2FJO1IUjAL7GBbw79JjCx-xnGnt-3H0Z8OuSFqIggDc67Jik9xo4P9JS3-N8p7P2H_aU6Rp35Xmbr8u3Eb0llTmmtdFOkVAoUAHPgIPrh6NwblqltN6cevf3B7qi-YuqNEEAeAyL21nLGDL1CWmKdDJN4IqoAO6SKkiczg_n9g9FfN-H6Krcuayba-U/s2246/DT259IMG_5264.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2FJO1IUjAL7GBbw79JjCx-xnGnt-3H0Z8OuSFqIggDc67Jik9xo4P9JS3-N8p7P2H_aU6Rp35Xmbr8u3Eb0llTmmtdFOkVAoUAHPgIPrh6NwblqltN6cevf3B7qi-YuqNEEAeAyL21nLGDL1CWmKdDJN4IqoAO6SKkiczg_n9g9FfN-H6Krcuayba-U/w640-h640/DT259IMG_5264.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>I decided I wanted a blue cake as we were doing it boy themed and this colour combo is one <b><a href="https://shurkus.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jenn Shurkus</a></b> used in her Copic 101 class and I like it as the BG11 bleaches the other BGs in the mix.</div><div><br /></div><div>Other colours chosen were almost random and what was on my desk from a colouring class but to the best of my recall this is what I used to colour in with, darkest > lightest.</div><div><br /></div><div>Blue cake: BG05/02/11</div><div>Apricot icing: YR23/21/20 and 2 Pinkfresh inks Peach Fuzz and Apricot for the sprinkles</div><div><div>Unicorn body: BG11/10, R20 and BV29/25 for hooves - I like this combo instead of greys</div><div>Rainbow: RV13/21, BG 13/11, YG05/01, Y15/11, V06/04</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5l67ubI5y5KK0bwGbAv2LqC0wCKwU1dSvJghZjB3Av_lKIrzjAbrHQvRIw3dk3qjtGtr5CNYPGUg5ZrUD_UiL96OUOu74KC6yg81ozPxWCcJyYvNdrYw_LV3Nds3eVx1ojKw9vqNvdx74Dy5wYs5T72CZVcynvEhC_BK3nOBL5dqeyECz0m5Ss7ItFCc/s2756/DT259IMG_5267.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2756" height="522" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5l67ubI5y5KK0bwGbAv2LqC0wCKwU1dSvJghZjB3Av_lKIrzjAbrHQvRIw3dk3qjtGtr5CNYPGUg5ZrUD_UiL96OUOu74KC6yg81ozPxWCcJyYvNdrYw_LV3Nds3eVx1ojKw9vqNvdx74Dy5wYs5T72CZVcynvEhC_BK3nOBL5dqeyECz0m5Ss7ItFCc/w640-h522/DT259IMG_5267.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><u>Supply List</u>:</div><div><b>Stamps</b>: Cupcake Birthday (ME), Itty Bitty Birthday (MFT)</div><div><b>Ink</b>: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Nocturne, Apricot (PFS), Peach Fuzz (PFS), Waterfall (PFS), Pumice Stone (RNG)</div><div><b>Paper</b>: Neenah #110, Xpress It blending </div><div><b>Other</b>: Copic markers, Confetti stencil (LF), Prisma glitter (LF), foam squares (SP), blending brushes (TE)</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3hK7d6TvxRPQl-33d2tz88hedKk7ZyXXkd6UjNy_assvizVQh8-bNj45UCp4mVJfrufK7Kuy05aqR_5LMrDcQkvbvdCiRZW8PCFtqcKkVWkN5ZGeowMSb2sL0_CEgYZ29hUXvs_fujyV1cBTrl-YXM60a6iSlNN67JVs6cvSzju-beetDbAvUjnyvPY/s2048/AAA259.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3hK7d6TvxRPQl-33d2tz88hedKk7ZyXXkd6UjNy_assvizVQh8-bNj45UCp4mVJfrufK7Kuy05aqR_5LMrDcQkvbvdCiRZW8PCFtqcKkVWkN5ZGeowMSb2sL0_CEgYZ29hUXvs_fujyV1cBTrl-YXM60a6iSlNN67JVs6cvSzju-beetDbAvUjnyvPY/s320/AAA259.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>As always you have 2 weeks to create your card and so I hope you can join in with us and do check in to see what the rest of the <b><a href="https://aaacards.blogspot.com/2024/02/aaa-card-challenges-259-anything-cas.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Design Team</a></b> came up for the challenge. Both the birthday and the colourful challenge are monthly challenges so lots of time to play along.<div><br /></div><div>The first kickoff challenge for <b><a href="https://aaacolourfulchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/colourboard-1.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">AAA Colourful</a></b> is to be inspired by the colours of their logo. </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnfQwqmfNa-7iDM7rnAAGlbiG0AopmNAgktVIoW_y0qMUzft9pUxhvxl7z_vJByu0U2lqiH_XZdjH9i9pXA2ZpEOcOow4cjrUdLnW5O2eaNhWzeMuHVwDRiIRhN0SBrr9oawmU0tYeZm8u4goCg3GpV-feSe-K6TmSQzGRkL8ahXCLr1HbXArhrCQRYOg/s1100/AAAC%231.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1100" data-original-width="1100" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnfQwqmfNa-7iDM7rnAAGlbiG0AopmNAgktVIoW_y0qMUzft9pUxhvxl7z_vJByu0U2lqiH_XZdjH9i9pXA2ZpEOcOow4cjrUdLnW5O2eaNhWzeMuHVwDRiIRhN0SBrr9oawmU0tYeZm8u4goCg3GpV-feSe-K6TmSQzGRkL8ahXCLr1HbXArhrCQRYOg/w400-h400/AAAC%231.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div>It's funny the old laptop in my craft room the colours looked like salvaged patina, blueprint sketch, wilted violet, picked raspberry, carved pumpkin and squeezed lemonade and those are the colours I worked with but now I'm sitting at my real PC with a much better/bigger screen I'm seeing the colour palate slightly differently but too late now the card is made.<div><br /></div><div>I was tossing quite a few ideas around with working with a stencil but for some reason I recalled an old cat stamp set from MFT <i>Purr-Fect Cats</i> that I used to think one of them looked like a hippy cat and thought it would be fun to work with. I've been inspired by <a href="https://3umbrellas.blogspot.com/2017/02/mft-february-release-countdown-day-2.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">a card I had pinned from MFT </a>when they released the stamp set in 2017 where they had ink blended various colours on the "hippy" cat. I white embossed the cats onto the wrong paper again I used my watercolour paper instead of my Ranger Heavy cardstock and its hard to blend on the watercolour paper so I ended up swiping and blending with my blending brush where the colours intermingled.<div><div><br /></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaev3enElIEPsAzcN3QlcVvufkjU_If7pFTWWzkCQbQZTZHJhrlQnOd9Euk6f0FAYpjDFKAZqywmGpYKDsDgPZsR-ihMUXvmF4x34zYbXFCXQxEda4D-ZXxVL6zYQQ3VeVxjBx2OVOxtEE75DGr3TOJjVWwOghH8SpCs1qmvsJTPXL3U7RSzfp52gBrZo/s2997/AAAC1IMG_5868.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2997" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaev3enElIEPsAzcN3QlcVvufkjU_If7pFTWWzkCQbQZTZHJhrlQnOd9Euk6f0FAYpjDFKAZqywmGpYKDsDgPZsR-ihMUXvmF4x34zYbXFCXQxEda4D-ZXxVL6zYQQ3VeVxjBx2OVOxtEE75DGr3TOJjVWwOghH8SpCs1qmvsJTPXL3U7RSzfp52gBrZo/w640-h480/AAAC1IMG_5868.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /></div><div>When dry I wiped the ink of the embossing and die cut out and viola...</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNK5FOYHgmGQp5Fe0mG6F-VumpTIVdYqVI40AQr7R85mrmEXV-LJDsJW2t_3DgDTJZxxHDtMBhFs1vVGECMHpuHg9S7FveBuCbDUIkOW0BqELedL5al_YAI2WASFKbfqhCBALF0arc95skZYcrL9ubf1kv5z3hJFDVALmmy0JiPKL92w61HJM5-x1mfU/s2246/AAAC1IMG_5880.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNK5FOYHgmGQp5Fe0mG6F-VumpTIVdYqVI40AQr7R85mrmEXV-LJDsJW2t_3DgDTJZxxHDtMBhFs1vVGECMHpuHg9S7FveBuCbDUIkOW0BqELedL5al_YAI2WASFKbfqhCBALF0arc95skZYcrL9ubf1kv5z3hJFDVALmmy0JiPKL92w61HJM5-x1mfU/w640-h640/AAAC1IMG_5880.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>I even had some kitty cats left over so I put one inside the card too.<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTcnNUdAiBUcD93nv-ubWOoGL9NqjOZATYiTjCVziCQuJJWn7UwQVHY775zYI7jWx-08Xl9W1wSq9LhRCRPFq8c44jVaogyua6KQVkAK6z-uYeRWgaegQPakL_amjPPEav-qBTYFDj3zAlwgguRrM6y3xHXkGgrEVpMdq6qMB-DavEoVpFbXUi7UGxYpo/s2246/AAAC1IMG_5881.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTcnNUdAiBUcD93nv-ubWOoGL9NqjOZATYiTjCVziCQuJJWn7UwQVHY775zYI7jWx-08Xl9W1wSq9LhRCRPFq8c44jVaogyua6KQVkAK6z-uYeRWgaegQPakL_amjPPEav-qBTYFDj3zAlwgguRrM6y3xHXkGgrEVpMdq6qMB-DavEoVpFbXUi7UGxYpo/w640-h640/AAAC1IMG_5881.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>Well I think this will be a really fun, colourful challenge and am looking forward to getting my fingers inky again next month :)<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLzN4gpP_TDt_Y3nx1Usia_BVTbk8WJEzACZOMbq7YkfCo755EONbmc-O77t2GBTPM8QJg1NFLagswfG9PxQHjEd8_H9d6HsTyEOGeHTrOlwDg_qsoPcZD4k05uZS8hPbVLFO31lIIzJNHvdpcfS0sIjIpDpx0fD-kmE0FD2tIVY7PcAciisVqCOpVms/s2246/AAAC1IMG_5875.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2246" data-original-width="2246" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJLzN4gpP_TDt_Y3nx1Usia_BVTbk8WJEzACZOMbq7YkfCo755EONbmc-O77t2GBTPM8QJg1NFLagswfG9PxQHjEd8_H9d6HsTyEOGeHTrOlwDg_qsoPcZD4k05uZS8hPbVLFO31lIIzJNHvdpcfS0sIjIpDpx0fD-kmE0FD2tIVY7PcAciisVqCOpVms/w400-h400/AAAC1IMG_5875.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><b style="color: #999999;">✿Karen✿</b></div>kareN stampZhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14352136728318888713noreply@blogger.com6
