Last post from Brisbane as I head south for a few days for some R+R
Wow where did 5 days go. I'll just share the highlight video that SU! has up - if you look hard I'm there at least 2x. First time entering the Great Hall & one time waving my all attendee giveaway gift (one of many). I'm wearing a bone & black striped top.

Under the sea - my swap for convention.
It's a late start today after the awards night last night, so limited time to share (sorry).
I snapped my demo swap which my roomie & BFF Donna now is the owner of as it doesn't appear that I snapped one with my camera before giving them all away. I chose the colour combo from the Sale-a-bration DSP we received this year: Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango. I wanted to give the illusion of an aquarium as I was/am in a semi-tropical city. Though apart from eating crisp melons there hasn't been too much semi-tropical about Brisbane & the weather has been very much like home was.
I KR-eated the recipe with My Digital Studio (MDS) as it looked so much prettier than just a word document.
And talking about MDS one of the fun breakout classes yesterday was MDS, Yes! with the lovely & talented Shannon West & I now can re-KReate one of these cards & I learnt a lot of tips along the way which I can't wait to share,
I'll try & logon again later & share some party piccies as they're a lot of fun but another full on day & night planned so no promises, enjoy your weekend all I know I'm going to enjoy mine.

Brisbane day 3 report
WOW kinda gutted 2 day gone, only 2 days to go. I was planning to share my swap with you today & some of my favourite I received tomorrow, but thinking I forget to take a picture of mine, so I'll share some pictures from the event & some highlights so far.
Biggest highlight for me is I have the new catalogue, normally as a demonstrator I can start ordering them Friday 31st May for it's release on July 1st, but it so very cool to have it in my hands already!!!
Prize patrol 2 of my 3 downlines (Donna & Judy) won bundles of goodies yesterday, so we're feeling very lucky, the rest of us weren't too hard done by as everyone got the new colour coach, a new kit that is coming in our Seasonal Catalogue & it's matching stamp set, as well as that all attendees got a new stamp set called Tag It which is seriously cute to celebrate that the parent company has gone global with it's support of Ronald MacDonald House. So as well as an annual donation from the parent company to RMCH they release stamp sets in which a % of the sales go directly to the local RMCH.
Just a few snaps from the day to share, starting at Memento Mall & finishing off at a very cool pizza place called The Burrow. Better go get dressed - can't wait to see what today has in store for us but will be hard to bet yesterday.
And yes I did manage to eat ALL my pizza.

Brisbane day 2 & take one notepad
Hi all just a very quickie post as "someone" thought it would be nice to arrange a team breakfast meeting at 7am, so I could meet some of my team mates - I belong to one of the biggest teams in NZ & I think there are over 40 of us at the meeting. On a smaller scale I have 3 of my own downline with me Donna Blackmore, Judy Beetson & Sally Williams & these altered notepads are my take on the front cover of our current seasonal catalogue - one for each of us.
The "Brisbane" in Calypso Coral was printed with MDS on vellum card stock.
Well day one was leadership for me and a full on afternoon & night it was but we were treated like stars - more piccies & new to follow I'd better go shower & get ready for day 2.
If you're on Facebook & haven't friended me I'm posting directly from my phone there.

Convention kicking off in just under 5 hours & an AB FAB card to share
Today is the day that the annual Stampin' Up! convention kicks off in supposedly sunny Brisbane - but awoken to a very grey & gloomy day here - I think it's raining in Auckland so won't complain too loudly!
The view of the park across the road from our apartment |
Looking in at some of my purchases |
She's coloured in the Vanilla Flower trim flowers (126869) with Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake & Old Olive ink & popped them all up on another All Dressed Up frame.
Very sad as it looks like the flower trim we have in our current Seasonal Mini didn't make the cut to the new annual catalogue - so we have until June 30th to order it ($14.50 for a roll of approx. 100 flowers).
Better go get ready for my exciting day ahead & take some more photos to share.

Sent With Love
SU! has an exclusive stamp set & matching DSP called Sent With Love which is only available until June 15th.
I had my team the WOW paperKRafters around for our tri-monthly get together last weekend & this was one of plays & we all managed to whip up 2 seriously cute cards very easily, but I can't take the credit for the designs they were both CASEd from Pinterest.
This set works really well with the Cloudy Day textured embossing folder (127022) which is currently available in our Seasonal Mini catalogue & very saddened to see this EF doesn't seem to have made the cut into the about to be released American new catalogue, so if it is on your wish list - don't let it fly away without getting yours, as it is very cute.
Talking about flying away - only one more sleep for me till I fly out for Stampin' Up!s annual convention in Brisbane tomorrow. Pete & myself are going to spend 5 days post the meeting down in Surfer's Paradise & chilling out so I won't be on much but will do a few posts pre-going. I'll try & post directly onto my Facebook page if you're on Facebook make sure you LIKE ME to stay tuned of the fun we're having.

Debbie does feminine so well!
Debbie Lamb (one of my fab downlines) style is always feminine with a hint of vintage. That's one of the cool things about belonging to a team, as we all have our own styles and we learn so much from each other. Maybe one day she'll rub off on me & make me more girly!
It's a really good time to join my team now as SU! are offering an extra $75 off products in your starter kit for FREE (while the offer is on you receive $360 of products for only $189 & SU! also provide you with all the business stuff needed to get started for free - phenomenal value). This offer closes May 31st, 2013.

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry (119981), Pool Party Core-dinations (129321), Whisper White (106549)

Playing dress up again
I can't believe how much fun the All Dressed Up framelits are - these wee cards were so quick & easy to whip up.
Recipe:
Stamp set: Sassy Salutations (126705 W, 126707 C)
Ink: Gumball Green (126861)
Paper: Gumball Green (127543), Very Vanilla (106550), Crumb Cake (121685), Print Poetry DSP stack (129312)
Other: All Dressed Up framelits (130101), Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (118309), Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (115964), ruffled Lucky Limeade ribbon (122977) - not the right green but it works & satin Island Indigo - SAB reward 2013, Basic Pearls (119247) or Jewels (119246), dimensionals (104430)
I'm kicking myself for not buying the "bundle" & saving 15% off the framelits come with a matching stamp set which you don't need to make a card with. As you can see card stock & DSP works beautifully with it. But the matching stamp set has same really fun sayings with it, so think it's being added to my wish list to order before June 30. Click HERE to see the bundle online.

Rainbow of Petite Purses
I had a lovely day on Saturday playing with my team mates & we mastered how to emboss the oh so cute Petite Purse (125606) from Stampin' Up!
We've embossed with the fancy fan (127751) & perfect polka dots (117335) embossing folders & embellished with a beautiful flower created with one of our new products - creped filter paper (129393) which is very deceiving, it looks flimsy but is actually quite tough. I folded one piece of creped filter paper in 4 & sandwiched them in some photocopy paper & then punched twice with my blossom punch (125603).
Then each punched shape is coloured up using a brayer. I brayered half perfect plum & the other half with wisteria wonder ink. The 2-tones did look good.
I wasn't going to do this colour combo originally but so loved my stained glass flowers card that Sally Williams shared with us. I knew the card was perfect for Mother's Day & it sure was - Pete's mum squealed with delight!!! So I made my wee purse to match the card, the joys of having the training in my own house I had a craft room to raid for supplies.
Well we had a fab day with more projects & fine food with friends, so roll on the next time the WOW paperKRafters get together & get inky together. If you would like to know more about joining my team drop us a line or have a read of this page.

Beautiful Butterfly all glammed up
Hi everyone & WOW were did last week go?? This was the 2nd card I taught at my Feminine / Mother's Day class last weekend to share with you - thinking about mothers I was inspired to recreate a beautiful card I made for my mum who loved butterflies in 2010 (click HERE to see the original) & rejuvenated it with products we now have in 2013.
It also became a bit of a retirement class as lots of the products used are on the retirement list in the States currently; what was used that has been announced in the US as retiring is Certainly Celery cardstock, ink & taffeta ribbon, Pretty in Pink ink, Elements of Style stamp set, Frost White & Champagne Mist shimmer paints. The Frost White has been added to the cut out butterfly on a scrunched up piece of plastic wrap & the Champagne Mist has been mixed with rubbing alcohol (70% isoproponal) & spritzed on the crumb cake layer, it was extremely sparkly in real life & very hard to photograph.
I made my card a happy birthday card originally as my mum has passed away & Pete's mum card is already done but ended up changing the sentiment as I needed a "get well wishes" card this week & so easy to do; just stamped & punched out & adhered on top.
The recipe if you wanted to recreate the card:
Stamp sets: Elements of Style (121504 W, 120045 C), Teeny Tiny Sentiments (119185 W, 120024 C)
Ink: StazOn Black, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Other: Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (114507), word window punch (119857), modern label punch (119849), Distress tool (127562), sponge dauber (102892), basic pearls (119247), dimensionals (104430), Frost White (116854) & Champagne Mist (116806) shimmer paints, Delicate Designs embossing folder (127023),large scallop edgelit (127019), aquapainter (103954), Stampin' Spritzer (126185), Certainly Celery tafetta ribbon (119963)
Technique: Faux Mother of Pearl
Well the retiring list is released here May 31st but if you were thinking you'd like some of the products I have mentioned above I'd get in now. I know with the Colour Refresh announcement early in April the majority of the retiring ink pads & reinkers & cardstock have already sold out & are no longer available.
To my mum readers have a fabulous day tomorrow, hope you're all spoilt rotten & if you're lucky you get $$$ for stamping supplies.

Time to play dress up
WOW I can't believe how much I enjoyed making this card, it brought back such happy memories of dress up paper dolls as a child.
This is one of the projects from my feminine class last night. I'll share the second after tomorrow's class which is always a repeat of Friday's class.
I still have room for a few more in tomorrow's class if anyone wants to have a play.
One of the other fun things on this card was printing out the sentiment using MDS as I didn't own the Delightful Dozen stamp set - well I won't have to say I don't have the right stamp ever again, with MDS I can have them ALL!
I can safely say that everyone at class also enjoyed making the card, it was fun bringing out the inner child in us all.
The recipe is below but the gorgeous satin Pool Party ribbon for her belt was a SAB reward & is not available for purchase but a wee strip of pool party would work equally as well.
