April 2022 : A big hi from Karen, thanks for popping in.
I have been stamping for over 20 years now, though I really only discovered stamping at a craft show in Hamilton where there was a workshop "take one stamp" with Kay Dixon from Stamp Zone (approx 2005) and I was sold. I still have that first card in my box of treasured cards and I still have the wee Christmas Tree ("one stamp") and the Christmas words in my stash.
Kay was ahead of the times with an early slimline card! About a year later Stampin' Up! came to New Zealand and when I discovered it I signed up promptly to be a demonstrator and made so many friends and achieved so much, I never earnt the incentive trip but achieved running a fab team of between 8-12 WOW paperKRafters, made the top 10 for sales 2 years running and even appeared on TV One's breakfast show for World Card Making day.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a demo with SU! and they are a huge part of my KRafting life but when I left in 2013 I started my love affair with Copic Markers, distress inks and mixed media.
I returned to become a demonstrator early in 2020 as at that time I was seriously looking at buying a coffee shop/cafe as my partner wanted us to move out of Auckland to his home town of Hamilton to be closer to his children and grandchildren. Well the cafe never happened thanks to COVID but I reunited my love of SU! colour co-ordination. I have resigned recently as a demo and at this stage hoping "my INKredible journey" continues and I grow and develop as a paperKRafter.
This is the LINK to my last newsletter I sent out as a SU! demo and it has more memories if anyone is interested in reading it.
Thanks for reading my story. Karen
