Home class with Wild Rose

I love roses & was extremely upset that Roses in Winter retired. Being a traditionalist my mum likes flowers & butterflies so thought that Wild Rose would be an awesome stamp set to play with for Mother's Day home class.

So the Braeburn Paperkrafters created a 4x4 gift box & matching card. Wild Rose matches the retired Recollections designer paper so we used that to mount up our flowers on. The stamp-ma-jig was a great help for lining up the outline flowers & for stamping our sayings on straight.

Most made the card & boxes for birthdays but my mum will get hers come Mother's day. I really loved the smallest rosebud & think I'll be playing with it a bit!

Stampsets: Wild Rose, It's Your Birthday, Occasional Greetings, Warm Words
Card stock: Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Recollections DP
Ink: Mellow Moss, Cranberry Crisp, Bravo Burgundy, River Rock
Other: Large & small oval punches, brads, twill tape, olive organdy ribbon, dimensionals, sticky tape (to seal box)

Stampin' Pastels

Wow second team training tonight, so the girls got to see how to stamp on candles & 3 ways to use the Stampin' Pastels (also known as chalks) that are part of their starter kit. I demonstrated colouring/chalking in an embossed image on vellum, the Poppin' Pastel technique using daubers & Versamark & last but not least we all made a wee card using one of the chickens from Best of Cluck which has now retired, it was coloured in with Pastels from the Earth Elements range using our blender pen, the white card stock was sponged & spritzed with More Mustard, mounted up on Real Rust. I used a strip of this Daisy D's paper which was perfect & a couple of buttons from Earth Elements set- a simple but effective card (& dare I say it my first card with no green!).

The pastels are a great resource as they actually have every SU! colour in the 4 main colour ranges plus black & white. Great value at $57.95

I am organised!!

I have managed to find some spots in April & May for home classes - hope you can make it - see the link on the right hand side for the schedule or CLICK HERE for details.
