2-step into July

Lots of 2 step stamping sets are 20% off in July even TWO  from our latest mini - I'm not sure why Cheep Talk is on special as it's not a true 2 step stamping set but who cares - this was probably my most favourite set when the Idea Book & Catalogue was released last year.

Fabulous Pendant Park swaps

I was really lucky to win this stamp set at convention as it was on my wish-list & then in my bag of goodies I received 2 fabulous swaps created with this set.

From Nicki Turner who's chosen her colours to match the Haiku DSP. I meet Nicki on the hotel computers late one night - yes think we're both a bit addicted to our PC ;-)

From Lynda Whitefield - just love her brayering - this is stunning!

Thank you both - they're fabulous!

Easy masculine card

This is one of the cool projects's Pam Morgan (Vice President at Stampin' Up!) shared with us at convention - I just loved it so it was the other project the ladies made at my BS scallop envelope class the other night.

Stamp sets: Totally Tools, Sanded (background)
Ink: Sage Shadow, Basic Brown, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Windsor Knot DSP, brushed metallics
Punches: Double Rectangle (perfect for making "belts")
Other: Scallop envelope Bigz die, old olive grosgrain ribbon, stamp-a-ma jig, blender pen, Earth Elements watercolour crayons

Totally Tools is such a cool stamp set for a masculine card (especially a thank you one) or to add as an embellishment to a scrapbook page & it has some really cool sayings on the stamps - I hope our partners don't take the 3rd saying literally!. $53.95 for a set of 5.
  • you came, you sawed, you fixed. thanks for all you do
  • you hit the nail on the head!
  • he who has the most tools wins
  • thanks for helping me out of a tight spot.
  • love beyond measure

More top picks

Reaching into my convention bag & pulling out some of my favourite swaps I received from Aussie demos, it sure brings back some good memories.

From Jayne Mercer - simple elegance with one of my favourite stamp set's at the moment Bird on a Branch

From Sonia Garbutt in Queensland - just love this baby card using Fox and Friends - such a versatile set.

From Pam Jorgensen - a really cute baby card using the scallop circle Bigz die - how clever is this.

From Kerry O'Hanlon - now I don't like dogs or punch art in real life but do love this - isn't he cute.

Thank you all they're fabulous - I wonder what I'll pull out next time - I do know there's some more goodies in that bag!

An easy box for notecards

plus we have bling & its 40% off - I am so glad I forgot to order more fire rhinestone brads after my class the other night as it's on special this week :) If you'd like to order some bling to make your projects pretty, remember the deal closes June 30th.

This wee box fits perfectly 3-4 notecards (3x3") & their matching envelopes and was one of my class projects the other night. You can make a box using 2 (or even 4) scallop envelopes really easily.

Only 2 extra steps are needed for a 2-scallop envelope box: trim the base to 1" horizontally and make 2 side pieces 1" x 2-1/4" - we've embossed ours as the Big Shot was out.

Stamp sets: Cottage Wall, Tiny Tags
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White
Punches: Medium jewelery tag, 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/8" circle, scallop circle, handheld punch
Other: Fire rhinestone brad, dimensionals, sticky strip, Whisper White notecards, Big shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

The last deal starts today

and ends 30th June - I'll be doing my order on 30 June if you'd like to share the costs of shipping 5% with pick up from house, otherwise shipped directly to you 5% (minimum $9.95).]

2nd scrapbooking lesson in the weekend

Delys Cram from Whakatane kindly gave my team the WOW paperKRafters our very own personal scrap booking lesson on Sunday morning after blueberry pancakes, fresh melon, creme fraiche & maple syrup for breakfast. Poor Lesley who didn't attend on Saturday couldn't believe how much noise 8 ladies could make - all I can say is she should have heard us the day before.

Delys' layout can be viewed HERE of her daughter's first ballet lesson - mine is of my favourite fur-baby. So many little details Delys adds to her layout to make it special & pop out I hope I've done her proud & yes I have mounted my photo the wrong way - too much talking!

Stamp set: Cottage Wall, Sanded (background stamp)
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White
Other: Circle Scissors, Laughter and Love rubons, ice rhinestone brads, hemp twine, aquapainter, Rich Razzleberry ribbon, sponges, Timeless Type alphabet & Big Shot, dimensionals

New Zealand's Queen of Sponge

is none other than the incredibly effervescent Paula Dobson from Wellington who shared with our team yesterday some of her tricks of sponging - I've cleared the wax out of my ears today so I may hear my sponges squeaking now Paula  - though there was probably too much laughter & gossip which is why I didn't hear it. It's very hard to hear over ~50 of my team mates who got together yesterday for training. I'm calling it playing as it was so much FUN!

Paula taught us a variation of  her lovely soft suede trees card showing us how to make this very gorgeous gift bag.

Stamp sets: Lovely As a Tree, Sweet Sentiments (level 1 hostess set)
Ink: Soft Suede, Basic Black
Paper: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Punches: Photo corner, large oval, 1-3/8" circle
Other: Gold brads, dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds glitter & SPONGES, post it notes

Thanks Paula you were great & rightly deserve your title of Queen of the Sponge and yes I am impressed, inspired & amazed by YOU!

Into my big bag & tonights draw's winners are...

Just wanting to share some more fabulous demo swaps I received at convention. It's a bit like Christmas putting my hand into the bag & seeing what I pull out.

From Leanne Dixon a very classy Fifth Avenue Floral card with metallic silver & glossy white card stock.

From Nicki Tidbold  last year Nicki's gorgeous "masculine card" would have been in my top 5 favourites & yes she's done it again - All a Flutter is so beautifully coloured in - she's used watercolour paper to get this kind of blending - stunning!

From Meegan Dale a small "onesie" on a card & dry embossed with the perfect polka dots embossing folder.

From Kim Smiley from Queensland - maybe my nicest Vintage Vogue swap - love it - simple but so effective. Kim was staying in the same apartment complex as myself  last year & sure enough we ran into her early with her very good friend Vicki Were from CHCH at Paddy's Market!

Thanks ladies for swapping with me & I wonder what my hand will pull out next time I pull some out of the bag...

Week 3 deals are a steal!

Inspired by Jenny Moors

Jenny is a fabulous English SU! demo & I bought one of her projects ages ago - even before I got the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set as it looked so fabulous.

Jenny's original project used Bella Bleu DSP, so much to my surprise SU! announced a special on designer series papers the same week I was running this class & I'm really glad they did as I love Jenny's box & cards in Raspberry Tart & it's matching colours.

Stamp sets: Flight of the Butterfly, Thank You Kindly
Ink: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss
Paper: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP
Punches: scallop circle, 1-3/8" circle, 1-1/4" circle, scallop eyelet border, butterfly
Other: Stamp-a-ma jig, dimensionals, white taffeta ribbon

And here's the 4 cards to go inside - these were so much fun to make
So do contact Jenny if you've missed my class and would like the instructions or request me to repeat the class as it is a FABULOUS project and don't forget the 40% off selected designer series paper deal closes this coming Tuesday night - if you'd like to order some my e-mail details are on the LHS of my blog. If you sign up for my Monthly newsletter all specials & promotions will end up in your Inbox as they happen or are announced.

Happy stampin'

More fabulous swaps

I have about 20 favourite swaps that I adore so I'll share them over the upcoming weeks - I grabbed 3 from the bag & here's tonight selection:

Firstly from our honorary team-mate Judith Hutchinson from Paraparaumu, NZ -  my Judy found Judith and as she was alone she became part of our team for the convention - I've got a lovely picture of the 2 of us showing of our free stamps at the awards ceremony. She's made a lovely colourful cupcake card & has made her frosting really sparkly - it sure looks good enough to eat!

The 2nd card is from Skip Siegmann all the way from Yangebup, Western Australia & Skip was one of the first Aussie demos we ran into on our 2nd day in Sydney - so pretty amazing to end up swapping with her - I had a 1:6 chance of swapping with anyone as I made about 80 & there was approx 480 registered but not everyone swaps - but the majority do . She's used her Big Shot & punched out a few shapes - simple, quick & really effective.

Sharon Turnbull from Caloundra, Queensland created this lovely patchwork Top Note card using Bella Rose DSP, Vintage Vogue flowers & a Big Shot leaf - how lovely is this!

I'm thinking Paraparumu is looking quite easy after these 2 Aussie place names!

Thank you all I love them.

Creative Inkers demo swaps part 3

This is the final of my swaps with my big team so I have the last 4 to share with you.

From our own Queen of Sponge - Paula Dobson - who's been very PC with the green and gold for Aussie & the black fern for NZ - combined with a spring card. The fern she's used is part of the Level 1 hostess set Organic Grace which you could earn for FREE by having a workshop with a few of your friends. Click HERE if you'd like to know more about hosting a workshop.

Then isn't this sweet June & Lorraine Abbott from Ashburton have made very special G n T cards - how did they know it was my favourite tipple?? They've used Tart and Tangy plus Cheers to You & have stamped the cocktail glass onto vellum - very clever. The alphabet set is Schoolbook Serif

Patrice Halliday-Larsen has made an incredibly cute easel card using Bugs & Kisses - I just adore it! She's also stamped the dragonfly wings onto vellum.

Last but not least Pauline McCardle from Napier & Up2 Scrap elite design team member for 2010 made Tangerine Tango "girly"

Tune back in tomorrow night for some more of my favourite convention swaps.
