Classy Playful Petals

I must have been good lately because I've been spoilt. Pauline McCardle from Napier - one very talented SU! demonstrator & lately one very published papercrafter genius in Up2Scrap sent me this lovely card created with the Playful Petals set. I just love the simplicity of the embossed white, baja breeze and a bit of bling. Thanks Pauline you're simply the best!

Garden whimsy - just for me

The lovely Michelle was one of the WOW presenters at convention recently & one of her projects was this really cool handbag, so you can imagine my delight when she offered the template on her blog. Not only did I get the template I got this really cool Garden Whimsy card which has a bit of a twist to it. I don't want to give away all of Michelle's trade secrets but I'd recommend going & buying the template for the handbag & you might receive a gorgeous card like ME! Thanks Michelle I must dust off my butterflies, snails & flowers again.

This absolutely gorgeous criss-cross card was sent to me by my lovely SBS sister Leslie I'm not sure how she knew green was my favourite colour but I just LOVE IT & the designer paper is stunning - thank you Leslie.

I love my stamp-a- ma- jig

Dare you to say that fast when you've had a drink or two. It's used for placing your stamps perfectly on your paper but if you still have no idea what it is used for check out this video link HERE.

For me personally I normally use it for adding my sentiment - I'm sure I'm not alone & do this last & don't you hate it after expending all that time & effort - it's crooked, so if you don't own one I'd really recommend getting one. A one off investment of $26.95 which will be quickly repaid.

One of the cool tips I heard at convention was rather than stamping on the image sheet (which does get messy as it takes the ink awhile to dry) use a new square of vellum card stock for each stamp set & have your words etc already stamped ready to go in the set - makes it much quicker, easier & cleaner. A pack of 20 sheets of A4 vellum card stock costs $14.95.

Anyone ordering the 2 of these items together I will discount 10% if you mention reading this post ie. $41.90 reduced to $37.70 (shipping costs to be added still).

More trendy trees

This set I don't think can make a bad card, it's so sweet but you definitely need a stamp-a-ma jig to line it all up. This was one of the make n' takes from convention that never got made there but whipped up in under 5 minutes today. Pretty simple the only trick was the cut out tree has been rock n' rolled first in so saffron, then tangerine tango, then red riding hood - very autumnal.

Stamp set: Trendy trees
Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Red Riding Hood, Pacific Point
Paper: Chocolate Chip (textured), Old Olive, Whisper White, So Saffron
Other: Dimensionals, Linen thread, Red Riding Hood striped grosgrain ribbon

Pull here

to see the butterfly fly!!

WOW I've been wanting to make a Waterfall Card for ages & my fabulous upline Jacque showed us how on Wednesday. It was so easy but I do love what she chose for us to create with.

Before this I wouldn't have said I was a Bella Rose DSP fan but have totally changed my mind, so I'll be ordering some of this before the free designer paper promo runs out in 7 days time!

I hope you can visualise those butterflies flying.

One of my favourite swaps from convention

I have so many great swaps but thought I'd share this one as it's so colourful & it is National Scrapbooking month!

This 6x6" layout was created by Miriam Thomas from Western Australia & the LO and the girl are both just adorable!! She's put so much work into it - totally blows me away. The flowers from Petal Pizzazz look great in the colours from the Raspberry Tart DSP.

Thanks Miriam I LOVE it.

Trudi's Colour Challenge

Stampin Up and A Flower For All SeasonsTrudi from NZSU says she hasn't done a color challenge in ages neither have I - must admit these colours didn't really turn on a light bulb for me. So I played with the card layout I created for my convention swap but with a few other elements & it also gave me the chance to ink up one of my new stamp sets A Flower For All Seasons.

The colour challenge was So Saffron, Red Riding Hood & Chocolate Chip. I've also cheated (like Trudi) and there's a hint of Mellow Moss on the leaves!

Stamp set: A Flower For All Seasons
Ink: Basic Brown, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Red Riding Hood, Mellow moss
Card stock: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Red Riding hood
Patterns DSP: So Saffron, Red Riding Hood & Chocolate Chip
Other: Scallop square punch, 1-1/4" square punch, blender pen, crystal effects (on my tulips), dimensionals, button latte selection, linen thread, mini glue dots

Not a 100% happy with it but I tried!

Cheep cheep

Ohh Cheep Talk is one of my favourite new stamps that can be found in our new catalogue, it's just so sweet & for the cheap price of $56.95 for 11 stamps - awesome value. Stampin' Up! with this release has a new style watch RETRO & this & it's "matching DSP" Good Morning Sunshine certainly fit the bill. Below are 2 of the 3 projects that were created at my home class last night the 3rd I can't show as it was created exactly using Andrea Walford's ideas which are copyrighted.
Stamp sets: Cheep Talk, Polka Dot (BG)
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Other: Trio flower punch, white Signo gel pen, chocolate chip narrow grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, 2-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter

Remember May is National Scrapbooking Month & it was fun making this really quick 6x6" page (sorry a wee bit blurry as in a plastic protector but click on the photo to make it bigger & easier to see) and SU! have a great deal on DSP (designer series paper) buy 3 packs get the 4th one free!

Stamp set: Cheep Talk
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Other: Trio flower punch, photo corner punch, white Signo gel pen, chocolate chip narrow grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, sponge

Shelli and Robyn's Rustic Rooster

One of our lovely hostess sets you can earn this year is Rustic Rooster and it has the Shelli Gardner seal of approval (a wee heart). It is a level 2 set so does require higher sales to achieve. Contact ME if you would like to know how you can earn it for FREE.

Shelli at the recent convention made the following card & had us & herself in stitches as there was no nice way to say chop off the rooster at the neck & pop it up!

Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Kraft
Other: Dimensionals

And look at this fantastic demo swap I received from Robyn Butts at Convention.

Ink: Tangerine Tango
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Haiku DSP
Other: Dimensionals

This is such an easy stamp set to stamp with & I can see it being used on quite a few projects.

Trendy trees gift set

This was one of the make n' takes we made at convention, I really like it & was the first thing I shared with my down line at training today.

Stamp set: Trendy trees
Paper: Baja breeze textured, Old Olive, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Other: Stamp-a-ma jig, word window punch, cellophane bag, chocolate chip DS wide grosgrain ribbon

Update for Deby: The bag is just a medium sized cellophane bag with a piece of DSP inside of approximately the same dimension as the cello bag, punch through all 3 layers with a word window punch, pop in the wee note cards, decorate/close with a nice ribbon! Now how easy is that!!

Gift Sacks created by SU!

Just a quickie post - this is the gift sack that SU! presented all their gifts in at the awards ceremony. So bright & colourful & I love the image in the metal tag too. The stamp set they've used is Party Hearty.

Convention continues

So much to share & so little free time, but it's late so must be time to take photos in the dark. I'll take some tomorrow in the day I promise though the weather forecast is atrocious.

These are the swaps from my Creative Inkers team that I received at convention - lucky me to belong to such a KReative team.

Firstly my best friend (& downline) Donna Blackmore's first ever demo swap - gotta love that bling ( that's her embellishment at the top of this post!) A bookmark & just a wee bit different with the background stamps poking through the punched out flowers.

From Patrice Halliday-Larsen (no. 3 demo in NZ for 2009) - BTW it used to contain a Whitaker's Square but long gone :-)

From Rachael Knight (no. 5 demo in NZ for 2009).

From Jacquelyn Pedersen (my fabulous upline & no. 1 demo in NZ for 2009).

HMM I can see a common theme here between Jacque & Rachael - I need to work with blues more if I want to break into the top 10 ;-)

From Kelly Slattery and this too used to hold a lollipop but all gone.

From Lorraine Gibbs a cool bookmark with surely the steal in the catalogue A Flower For All Seasons at $28.95 for the cutest 4 stamps imaginable.

From Leanne Marsters - what a great card for a boy & I do believe her guy is a builder - so I'm thinking he may have inspired her a wee bit with this fabulous card.

From Denise Ibbett - this card has the coolest fold & will certainly be used again.

Had to share this my blogging friend Sam is a real Twilight fan & disappeared for quite a while from the blogging world when she discovered the books & the DVD. She also shared with us her Edward ATC:

So I had to laugh when I saw this convention attendee :-))

Just a few shots of the banquet table & my entree:

The very talented Michelle Habib & me - this time a kiwi blogging friend - unfortunately I didn't get her convention swap as she was also placed in the Top 10 for 2009 and was one of our WOW presenters & she sure was. Lovely to meet you face to face!!

Last but not last half the team on Donna & mine's deck having a few bubbles pre- the big event.

(L->R: Donna, me, Denise, Lorraine & Kelly), the other half of the team present were doing their hair!

I'm back from Convention

This is my skite photo Donna, Shelli & me (I'm looking I might add as if I'm standing to attention). But yes Shelli is just an amazing woman & so inspirational & everything you read or hear about her triple it at least as she's so much better IRL!!

One of the highlights from Convention was the PEOPLE - especially my Aussie blogging friends Sam & Di - it was so exciting to meet them in the flesh we'd talked about it for so long. So this is the 3 of us plus their friend Kelly. (L->R: Kelly, Diane, Sam & me)

and just the 3 of us in our evening finery (L->R: Me, Diane & Sam)

Convention what a blast, so glad I attended (now planning for May 21-22, 2010 in Sydney). I was very fortunate to receive an award at the award ceremony thanks to my fabulous downline I earned the first leadership pin (& a stamp set) and got to walk on stage. The big team did pretty well but I'll let them brag on their own blogs.

The friendships one makes as a demonstrator whether doing this as a hobby or as a business was a reoccurring theme at Convention & it's so TRUE.

To celebrate Worldwide Scrapbooking month SU! are offering for the first time a reduced starter kit (themed towards scrapbooking).

This is only $175 - which will most likely be repaid after 1 or 2 workshops & you're be well on the way to earning stamps or scrap booking items for free or at a discounted price.

So if you'd like to join my team the WOW paperKRafters contact me by E-MAIL if you'd like to know more or receive a recruit brochure - this offer does expire May 31st.

Last but not least the girls swaps (lucky me).

From Samantha Post AKA Ryemilan

Sam's post for her swap can be viewed HERE and a is much better reflection of her lovely sparkling card (can't wait for my super novo gliiter to arrive).
From Diane Barnes AKA Colour Me Happy

Some things don't change I'm still blogging at night & taking pictures of cards with a lamp so sorry I don't do the cards justice, they're both stunning. If you haven't checked out their blogs before I'm sure you'll find them as inspirational as I do.
