Janet Rossi's 17th Corrosive Challenge has asked for a different kind of fold (trifold, gate fold).
This is called a Trifold Shutter Card & is certainly "new" to me so I had to follow the excellent tutorial created by Bonnie Szwalkiewicz
It was easier than it looks & it looks amazing in real life, so not sure if I can bear to post away to my friend Mike who I created it for, but I'll certainly be reKReating this one again. I've been having a real clean up of my craft room this weekend so I have used up old stuff i.e. retired so I can make some room for the new.
Stamp set: In the Stars (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi (retired)
Paper: Wild Wasabi (retired), Real Red, Tempting Turqiouse, Whisper White, East Coast Prep DSP (retired)
Other: Large & small star punch, Bold Brights brads
Hope you can play along too in the challenge (& Janet's giveaway this week is a vintage scrapbook & ribbon - sounds yummy) - love to see someone create one of these cards - it's well worth it.
This is what it looks closed for posting too. Happy stampin'
This is cool! I will have to try it and the corrosive challenge too - last time I made the card but didn't get it posted.
ReplyDeleteI have been having a clean up too. The pile of retired DSP is a little scary! Note to self - buy less!!!
Karen, this is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with this technique and the papers are lovely!
blessings, Maria
this is a very cool card Karen. Might have to borrow that idea for some twin boy birthday cards - I am sure they would be impressed.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the colour combo in this card! Its a great fold for a card isn't it, I have taught it often. But I think this is one of the coolest looking ones I've seen!
ReplyDeleteTerrific card, it's easier to make than to explain, isn't it? You've used lovely colours for it :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS!!! and thanks for the link on how to make it. It's come together beautifully.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, Karen! It's unusual and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vanja

ReplyDeleteKaren this is incredible! I haven't tried it yet. I love how yours is decorated!
