Hi just a quick hello it's so hard to lock myself away & KReate or blog as it's summertime but just had to share/skite about my fabulous weekend of all of the above.
The weekend kicked off with my dear friend Mary whipping up a quick paella for us all on Friday night - so scrummy!
Then Saturday was I lucky - after I'd say a dozen years of being a volunteer at Stanley St for the women's tennis - this year I said NO I don't have enough annual leave to spare so wouldn't be involved & then missed out on tickets in the stand on the day I was trying to get - so entered online competitions to win a corporate box & blow me down with a feather I won - so a huge thank you to 1ZB & the Radio Network it was fantastic & we were looked after very well with food & drink (I had a gorgeous Smoked Salmon Salad for lunch with bubbly, followed by frozen Pina Coladas & then strawberries & ice cream).
All of my friends in the box pre-lunch (Richard, Donna, Kathryn, me, Pete & Cathy):
Sandie & Maureen working the Yock stand before it kicked off - offered them a seat but no they were too dedicated (silly them).
Look how close we were to centre court!
The compulsory photo opportunty/obligation with the doubles winners Cara Black & Liezel Huber, who are also the world's no. 1 doubles combination (Liezel, me, Donna, Cara):
It's almost enough to make me dust off my tennis racquet - hopefully be back soon with some KReating!
Ciao for now.
Congratulations on you be win Karen! Looks like a great day. Great food, great weather, and ringside seats - what more could a girl want?!!
